Regular Member SoSoz Posted April 13, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted April 13, 2023 I've started again with oral finasteride 0.5mg dose and I am not seeing any side effects, should I up the dose to 1mg or continue with 0.5mg? Am I losing much benefits if I don't use 1mg?
Regular Member Rafael Manelli Posted April 13, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted April 13, 2023 You must pay attention to your hair. Ideal dosage of finasteride varies because follicular DHT sensitivity varies. You want to use the minimum dose necessary to prevent hair loss. Enough to get the desired effect, but not too much to risk increased side effects. If your hair loss continues, you may try upping the dose. Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted April 13, 2023 Administrators Share Posted April 13, 2023 I think the benefit is marginal and the risk is greater. If you’re doing fine with this dosage stick to it. I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. I do not receive any compensation from any clinic. My comments are not medical advice. Go for it - Fin has an excellent safety profile. Remember, it is considered safe at 5mg daily for its original use. 3 hours ago, SoSoz said: Am I losing much benefits if I don't use 1mg? You won't know unless you try. 37 minutes ago, SoSoz said: Do you think it's okay getting hair transplant after 3 months of continued use of finasteride, or it should be around 6-9 months? Give it 12 months or longer on the meds before getting a transplant.
