Regular Member arthurSam Posted April 10, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted April 10, 2023 (edited) Hello, My last blood test show a significant descrease (-11 ; passed from 101 to 90 which is important drop) of my Glomerular Filtration Rate since last 3 months. It happen exactly after I started to use 1mg minox / day. I was already on topical minox before. My Creatinine Level is normal. I regulary take blood pressure and it have a little decrease too but all values are OK. My heart rate is the same as before, about 47 bpm at rest (I always had a low bpm because of sport) but when I do intense cardio I now always got arrhythmia... I saw here (se bellow) that it can be a side effect. Does someone had already got that ? Is it dangerous ? I already got an apointment with my doctor and a cardiologist in few weeks because I want to be sure all is OK but would like to know of someone know this here ? I will speak also about this to the Dr. who prescribe minox to me in few days. As I am not very sure 1mg/day oral is better than 2ml/day topical I am tenting to go only on topical now... Thanks ! Quote Blood Volume Expansion Blood Volume-cup Expanding Chronic use of arteriolar vasodilators causes prolonged reduction of blood pressure. Decreased blood pressure triggers adrenal glands to secrete aldosterone to promote sodium and water retention. In addition, decreasing arterial pressure leads to decreased renal blood flow and reduced glomerular filtration rate. Decreasing the filtrate volume increases the kidney's ability to reabsorb sodium and water and leads to blood volume expansion.
