Hi Everyone,

We would like to present below a case of a patient with a Norwood III stage. You can find below the details of the surgery.

Patient Details

Surgical Plan: Hairline reconstruction and density increase in the frontal and fronto-temporal area. The surgery was performed in one day with 2 sessions of extraction and implantation.

Patient´s age: 35 years old.

Hair Thickness: 44 microns in the parietal areas and 60 microns in the occipital area.

Hair Type: caucasian, dark hair, thin hair

Patient was using finasteride and minoxidil before the surgery.

Number of Grafts Implanted: 2306.

0.8mm micromotor punch and 0.85mm manual punch were used for the extraction.

Grafts Breakdown

1s: 292

2s: 1032

3s: 825

4s: 157

Overall hair/graft ratio: 2.36

That guy looks like he is in his mid 20's now. 8-10 year age difference by surgery.

Guess you get these options for hairline if your crown is good.

Also, it is important to note that by using medication prior to the surgery, the hair loss was stabilised which always gives the doctor the opportunity of being less conservative with the hairline design.

I completely agree. Being on meds and good response to them will give the surgeon, the option to make the best hairline which frames the face and not the hairline which just covers a part of the scalp.
