Do Multiple-Hair Grafts Take Longer To Grow?

I've read scattered and anecdotal reports where multi-hair grafts (triples, quadruples etc.) take much longer to grow than singles or doubles. 

I was curious if any of you has had a surgery heavy on multigrafts and what their experience was. I'm a slow grower myself, having got 900 singles -pretty sure these all grew-, 2100 doubles -most of those have also probably grown- and 1500 multiples that will HOPEFULLY grow.

Would love to hear from people who received similar graft distributions!

I had a high proportion of multi grafts but had early growth. That said, it did take a while to thicken up. I put that down to the various follicles in the follecular group being in different growth stages at a particular time. I still had the minor scalp irritation and pimples at 8-9 months as the last of the new growth punctured that scalp.

While everybody grows at different rates, I haven’t heard or seen any evidence that multi haired follicular units take any longer to grow than single haired follicular units. That said, if you feel that some grafts are taking longer than others, the only thing you can really do is wait it out and give your hair transplant adequate time to fully grow in. This is why we always tell people that the final result won’t be seen until somewhere between 12 to 18 months.
