FUE 3500 grafts (front, midscalp and crown)

Recommended Posts

Hello, i’m worried because of my results so i’m posting my case and i would like to know what you think about it

Today it’s been 6 and a half months since i had my hair transplant done but i don’t feel like the density is good enough, maybe the new grown hair is still very thin? also it seems like many of the transplanted follicles haven’t survived because they’re not even out of the skin…

On one hand i’m reading a lot of people saying that this can be normal since some people are slow-growers, the hair that hasn’t grow yet could be in telophase yet so it’s gonna start growing within the next months, and the grown hair needs to get ticker, etc etc… (ehcoh makes sense, i think?)

But on the other hand, my surgeon said it is a little weird because most patients look way better by this post-op moment. She’s been observing my hair and skin with a micro-camera and there’s no evidence of any pathology, but anyway i’m having a biopsy next week so we can make sure everything’s ok. My surgeon told me to wait untill next review (May 29) and if it hasn’t improved by then, i’m having another hair transplant by June (which i don’t have to pay, of course).

what do you guys think? Here you have the pictures!

Your case reminds me of @dsq83 who also showed almost no growth until Month 7. Fingers crossed that you are a slow grower man.

It's definitely concerning but don't lose hope yet, especially if you did not experience any complications in your recovery (no infections or anything unusual).

who was the doctor?

I’m from southern Spain so i’m sure you’re not gonna know her anyway haha
But i’ve seen a few cases of her before and she’s not a swindler, also the clinic where she’s working has good reviews… that’s why my case seems weird

Exactly

Specifically from Andalucia which is located in southern Spain (Europe)

Hmm…normally the growth should be much higher on that stage. But you never know it might change in the next months

You are not at a growth stage where you should be but this happens to few people and as you said you have hears that there are few slow growers so you can wish that you are one of them...good that she offered you a free transplant again if grafts don't grow...but is there enough grafts available in the donor and if she would do it for free and again the same thing happens than? So please choose your options wisely and just don't go for it as it will be free...

And i hope you are on medication ...

Yes, there’s enough grafts available in the donor, so i can be calm about it. and yes, i’m on medication (oral 0.5 mg dutasteride and oral 5mg minoxidil), also oral vitamins (Iraltone Aga Plus)

And i wonder that too, mate… if my hair has this tendency “naturally”, then i guess it will never get an appearance as good as it was expected… but i suppose that, in case i had a new hair transplant,  if at least half of the new transplanted follicles survive then ir will make an enough difference

anyway if i get a new hair transplant i think i’ll have to prioritize one area or another so the result can be better… i’ll talk about this with my surgeon if the situation is still the same (i hope not :()

I am aware of two clinics in that area that have female doctors and could be seen as "respected". Medecap and BHR Malaga (I think this one goes by a different name now).

Is it one of those? I've contemplated going to the first one at some point.

Exactly, my hair trasplant was made in Medecap (Malaga) by Cristina Salazar

it is a “respected” clinic, as you said and i saw a few hair transplants made by her in that clinic before i decided to do it, they were fine so… that’s why my case is weird

Do you guys think it’s a good idea to wait untill 8 and a half months after my first hair transplant and, if it doesn’t improve by then, then get another one?

or should i wait even more so it has more time to improve? like… wait ‘till it’s been 1 year after my first hair transplant (?)

i think 8 motnhs and a half is long enough and i don’t think it’s going to improve after that time… but, just asking… how long would you wait if you were in my situation?
