Let me first start out by saying I realize I am creating this post 8 months after my HT...  admittedly, if the HT failed, I didnt want to bear the pain of being a public spectacle ON TOP of the grief of having a failed HT lol.

So after being depressed for years with a shaved head, I finally chose to pull the trigger and do something about it.  I had long been hesitant as I was worried I would spend lots of money on a HT and not get a result I was happy with, but I finally reached a breaking point where I realized money is just money, and if it could buy me a lottery ticket to possibly having hair again, it was worth the risk.

I chose Dr Das and flew to New Delhi July of 2022.  I explained to her I didnt want to do half my head first then the half later, I wanted full scalp coverage in one go, and would return for density later.  She said my donor looked good and they would try for 5-6k grafts.  The surgery was spread over 3 days, just under 24 hours, and was mostly painless other than the administration of the anesthesia.  They took 6005 grafts in total, 4200 being from scalp and 1805 from beard.  Dr Das was incredible;  very knowledgeable, took the time to answer my questions and address any concerns that came up.  It was amazing to watch the techs work, they were so fluid, like a well-oiled machine, you could tell they were experienced and worked well as a team.  They made sure I was comfortable at all times, and even let me choose the music they played.  Before flying to India I really didnt know exactly what to expect, but seeing how great the whole team was quickly put me at ease.

It turns out I have a really weak stomach for medication, particularly antibiotics, because the morning after the surgery was over I got extremely sick in my hotel room and experienced intense vomiting and diarrhea.  I began to worry, as I was alone in a hotel room in a country foreign to me, not sure about the logistics of getting to a hospital.  Eugenix' post care follow up team coincidentally reached out to me to see how I was doing and I told them my scalp felt fine, but my stomach was in bad shape.  With a sense of urgency they had their driver bring me back to the clinic and they put me under the care of their resident physician.  What a relief.  They even got a gastroenterologist to meet with me and make sure it wasnt anything serious.  Drs Sethi and Arika heard there was a sick patient there, and came into the room to check on me and express their concern, as did Dr Das.  The physician and a few others stayed with me in the clinic until I started feeling better, which was about 11pm, then they sent one of their staff to stay with me in the hotel, and monitor my situation throughout the night to make sure it didnt worsen.  When we arrived at the hotel I told him repeatedly, "Ill be fine, please go home to your family", but he wouldnt hear of it.  He insisted I was his family too, and wanted to make sure I was OK.  Wow.

What an experience, all in all.  I cannot say enough about the professionalism of the staff and particularly the kindness and care they showed me after my procedure was over.  It kinda made me want to stay in India : ) .  I hate being cliche but I must echo the voices of many other HT patients on here and say that I only wish I had done this sooner.  Choosing Dr Das and the team at Eugenix turned out to be no risk at all, I truly saw that I was in great hands and they really are the best!

Dude, this looks incredible. What a transformation! You look a decade younger. You still have months left of maturation of the transplanted hair too. You seem to have good hair characteristics with thicker, curlier hair. Regardless, I'd be ecstatic with this result.

What an improvement from your baseline .. you must be twice as confident 🙂

While I've been critical of some of Eugenix's cases recently, you can't deny that their hospitality and care for the patient seems world class

Absolutely incredible result. Eugenix is on my short list. I'm open to correction but there doesn't seem to be any other clinic that provides such results for the higher Norwood scales. I'm a Norwood 6 presently and in my mid forties.

Looks really good -- are you on any meds? How many grafts do you have left in case?

I have opted to take no meds, my body is so sensitive to any foreign substance.  With my luck I'd be that 1% guy.  I take no multivitamins either.  I just eat an extremely healthy diet of mostly whole foods, and tons of excercise.

Forgot the second half of your question, after reviewing photos of my donor Dr Das said I should have at least 3-4k more grafts, between scalp and beard.  Im hoping to get back to India this year for a round #2

Unbelievable transformation mate! Look like a different person from 8 months ago. You must be thrilled!

I can't give my opinion on my final results just yet as I'm only 12 weeks in (today) since my HT with Eugenix. But I completely agree, the hospitality and customer care is outstanding. The aftercare I received is fantastic. Hoping for final results like yours in the months to come!

Great write up and all the best going forward! 🤝

I suspect that had you posted photos here before getting an HT, you’d have been told you have a weak donor. Just goes to show looks can be deceptive.

I’ve noticed that the curlier the hair, the weaker the donor looks when short, most of the time. But this is deceptive because the hair provides so much coverage due to the texture.

Congratulations.

I'm also planning to not take meds as I've had side effects too. I've been told that the result may not be good or indeed, may not last. Your result is inspiring however.

My assumption is that I will have sufficient donor hair into the future to supplement any future hair loss post transplant. I was told this strategy would not be wise.

Did the team give you the same advice prior to undertaking the procedure?

What is your strategy for any future hair loss?

what package did you choose? looks literally insanely good

not even sure if you need more density, with curly hair and the low skincolor hair color contrast it already looks legit

I did the exclusive package, back when it still included Dr Das

awesome results mate. This post was exactly what I needed to find and read. Im deep in the shadow of the ugly ducking and while I know everything is ok, the mind games are real and a little pick me up by seeing quality results like yours (I also saw Dr. Das and had 5144 grafts) really helps. Congrats on coming out the other side and looking so terrific. Oh and keep your beard at stubble / long stubble length. You look 10 years younger than when its long.
