needhair
I have been to a few consultations with various hair transplant clinics. One clinics claims they use the combination of Incisions + FUE extraction + DHI implantation. They claims the cuts made by incision promote the healing and growth factor of the implanted follicles. Is there any truth to this? They said the order of the process is incisions -> extractions -> implantation. I just thought this is probably the method this particular doctor works most efficiently (i.e. implant the hair in the shortest time possible) and has nothing to do with the outcome of the hair implant. Does anyone here know about this method?
needhair
BTW, I am pursuing FUE extraction because I don't want a linear scar, and DHI implantation because I think it yields higher survival rate of follicles. But of course the trade off is DHI is more expensive.
Senior Member Big Rome Posted March 29, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted March 29, 2023 I’ve seen a few of the more experienced members on the forum advising it doesn’t really matter the method when opting for FUE, it’s more the doctor carrying out the surgery that counts
needhair
OK. But of course every doctor says he/she is the best. And after consultations, I screened out some of them, now just don't know what/how to decide.
needhair
I am facing a dilemma where I am considering between two FUE HT doctors. One use incision(punch holes on the implant site) + FUE extraction + DHI implantation, with no ATP solution/spray during and after HT, they only use saline solution through out, they are fully booked for the next 6 weeks. The other doctor uses FUE exstraction + DHI implantation, PLUS ATP solution and low temperature during processing the hair follicles, and use ATP spray for wound care after HT process is done, they are fully booked for the next 2 weeks. I think both doctors are well qualified, but you really can't be 100% sure. I don't know how to decide.
Valued Contributor A_4_Archan Posted March 30, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted March 30, 2023 With Surgery there will always be a bit of risk factor so please consider that....but a good doctor minimise that risk and even stand by the patient in evry case.... Dont go by the techniques ...fue is fue..if you do pre made slits or dhi ita called fue only...and let the doctor do what he feels comfortable with...any technique would be good if the hands performing it are the best....go by the results and reviews of real patients ..look at lots of results and than you can choose by your own....and do make sure that the doctor himself/herself does the incisions and implantation and not the technicians...best of luck Check Out My Hair Transplant Journey --> My Thread 3611 FUE Grafts With Dr Kongkiat Laorwong | Norwood 5 | 2nd May 2023

But if you look at the results published by the clinics, you only see the good ones. Only sites like this gives you the opportunity to see the honest bad results and there are very few. needhair
https://www.dcdchair.com.tw/ https://www.mojelim.com.tw/ These two clinics in Taiwan. I live in both U.S. and Taiwan. But with FUE only, doctors do the FUE drill (technicians do the pulls of grafts), make the slits and technicians insert the grafts into the slits. Most western doctors (including Turkish doctors) do not perform DHI (some perform DHI with much higher price). It is too time consuming for them. Valued Contributor A_4_Archan Posted March 30, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted March 30, 2023 (edited) Yeh it is time consuming ..actually some doctors say that pre made slits are better as they can give better direction to the grafts comparing to dhi where grafts are implanted directly with an implanter...but i believe this all depends on the comfort level of doctor ..they can do whatever they feel comfortable with and which can give better results cause at the end results only matter and you just have to choose a doctor who is producing more natural result according to your own survey of the patients and not to look for a any particular technique ..go with the one whos results are better in your opinion.. I dont know about this doctors you mentioned about so i cannot comment on any of them..
