Regular Member Sunset Dune Posted March 23, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted March 23, 2023 I recently made a regretful decision by shaving off my 4 month old beard just weeks before my surgery. I don’t want to take Finasteride until my beard grows out again naturally without the effects of Finasteride. Even though it isn’t fully proven, there is a highly likely possibility Finasteride has an effect on beard growth where the beard hairs might look thinner and patchy than if you weren’t using the drug. I want my beard to grow out long and thick/full again before I get on Finasteride which may take up to 4-5 months. Is it possible to still get a good result without using Finasteride until several months after having hair transplant surgery? I’m not saying I won’t ever take Finasteride, I will take Fin about 6 months after my surgery so I can catch up for the next 6 months. Is that entirely feasible without compromising the results? I’m having surgery at H&W with Dr. Hasson so the experience of the surgeon should be good.
