He wanted to restore his hair loss at the front toward midscalp. His donor hair looked good. He underwent FUT, a total of 2,527 grafts (1 hair graft = 659 grafts, 1 long and 1 short hair graft = 635 grafts, 2 hairs graft = 915 grafts, 3 hairs graft = 140 grafts; total number of hairs = 3,722 hairs). Below are his pre op and eight months post op photos. He is very happy with the result. You're right, the very coarse hair in Asian is difficult and challenging to create the hairline and need to select the finer hair and lot of single hair to achieve natural result.
