Regular Member Vortex Posted January 4, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted January 4, 2023 (edited) Besides the obvious pre and post-op consumption rules (caffeine, smoking, alcohol), I’m a bit stuck as to whether consuming sweet foods/drinks is totally fine, or whether it could harm the grafts/recovery in some way? Im thinking more along the lines of fruit, rather than lots of cakes and sweets. Does diet play a significant role in graft survival? Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted January 4, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted January 4, 2023 It won't harm the grafts but cutting sugar out of your diet will improve the quality and texture of your hair (and skin). Senior Member IMM1979 Posted January 4, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 4, 2023 I wolfed down a huge bag of Haribo gummi bears right after the surgery...definitely helped ease the pain!

I believe so ! You can check it out on the link below .. incidentally usually diet, drinking etc are just guidelines .. I usually drink 1-2 glasses of wine every other night and didn’t stop that either before or after the surgery .. nothing happened.. though I believe you are advised not to as it can thin the blood .. Welcome to HRN. If you cut sugar out of your diet you will benefit health wise on every physical level. I've never seen anyone's hair improve on sugar. Senior Member mavigo Posted January 8, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 8, 2023 I do not think it could harm the grafts. But keep in mind your hair is a part of your integumentary system. Drinking a lot of pop and eating candies can cause acne for some. In general it's best to cut out sugars as much as possible, better dental hygiene, cardiovascular system, etc. FUE 2400 Grafts (2023) - Dr. Panine; Chicago Hair Transplant Clinic FUT 1400 Grafts (2019) - Dr. Steven Paul Holt; Holt Hair Restoration/Bella
