Dr. Vladimir Panine
This 23-year-old had a hair loss pattern similar to a class 3 on the Hamilton Norwood hair loss scale. After establishing his medical history and understanding the progression of his hair loss, I diagnosed his condition as Androgenetic Alopecia (male pattern baldness), ruling out any other possible dermatological or medical conditions which can cause hair loss. We discussed his goals and his options for surgery. Since his goal was to augment his hairline and add density to the frontal 1/2 of his scalp, we agreed on a surgical plan that would include a very conservative approach in reconstructing his hairline so that it would be suitable for him now and as he continued to age. A total of 3,046 grafts were used in the frontal 1/2 of his head. These are his results on the day of procedure, and 7 months post-op. The patient is extremely happy with his results at this point. 1 Dr. Vladimir Panine is a member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians. Senior Member mavigo Posted December 30, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted December 30, 2022 Is there any reason why this patient chose FUT over FUE? He's 23, already is a norwood 3, has a limited number of grafts, strip being a procedure that maximizes number of grafts, I'd say it was very smart of him to choose FUT.
Valued Contributor Steeeve Posted January 3, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted January 3, 2023 I would love to hear what the doctor has to say but, yeah, this guy is probably looking at being a much higher Norwood with loss like this so early on in his life. FUT was a good choice for him.
Senior Member mavigo Posted January 7, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 7, 2023 Typically Dr. P does FUE. With gen z hair styles consisting fades, signitatures, etc; I thought FUT was relegated to older patients who just didn't care about the scar. Or me who just made a really ill-informed decision. 1 FUE 2400 Grafts (2023) - Dr. Panine; Chicago Hair Transplant Clinic FUT 1400 Grafts (2019) - Dr. Steven Paul Holt; Holt Hair Restoration/Bella
