Regular Member BobbySand Posted December 24, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted December 24, 2008 I've been doing some research on Fincar and I noticed that it is metabolized in the liver. Does this mean that if you drink a fair amount, Fincar can be damaging to your liver? I tried to find side effects, but couldn't really find any instances where Fincar has been bad for the liver. I'm wondering if anyone on this forum has had or heard of any instances where Fincar has had any adverse effects on someone's liver? And if the effects are long term or stop when Fincar is no longer taken??

Bill - Seemiller
Bobbysand, To my knowledge, there have been no long term side effects found to show that finasteride is damaging to the liver. However, I'd probably avoid taking your Fincar with alcohol Best wishes, Bill
Regular Member maxhair Posted December 26, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted December 26, 2008 I have no idea the answer to your question but there are so many things that do cause damage to ones liver. Regardless if finasteride does harm the liver (I have no idea), in general I would research things that do harm your liver and cut as many of the unnecessary ones out of your intake. I cut out drinking alcohol and taking tylenol awhile back, which although this may seem naive, it leaves room for medications that I need or choose to take for reasons such as saving my hair. Just my two cents... My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr Arocha
Regular Member BobbySand Posted December 27, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 27, 2008 yea, thanks so much guys. That is reassuring. I agree that cutting unhealthy tendencies is probably the best course of action. and Bill, I will try to avoid washing down pills with a swig of alcohol, haha .
