victau
Hello, To bring my contribution to the forum after having consulted it for a long time, I share with you the result of my transplant performed by Dr. Lupanzula on 21/09/2021. It was an operation to recreate a frontal line. I am a 26 year old patient and I have been losing my hair since I was 20 years old. My father and uncle are completely bald, my grandfather NW3/4. I was at a NW3 stage with a refinement also at the vertex (not grafted). I won't go into the details of the surgery or the post-op but just attach pictures of the month by month evolution. victau
M9 : Here is the result at M+9. I am really satisfied with the transplant. The donor area is invisible and very well preserved. The graft took well but the left golf lacks a little density to my taste and now I would like to graft my temples and to go down of a few millimeters to the frontal line as on the photos below : What do you think about it ? Is it a good idea and how many grafts do you think i needed ?
Regular Member gxm100 Posted June 29, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted June 29, 2022 @victau - great result! I think it looks fantastic and very natural! This is only a personal opinion, but I would not lower the hairline any further if I were in your position. Temple points maybe you could do, but personally, don’t even think you need it. The only reason I say this is because you are young, and the more grafts your pour into the front now, the less you will have in 15-20 years if you start thinning from the back. And that area would require even more grafts. I don’t think you’re ridiculous for what you’re suggesting by any means, and you could do it. But if I got your result, I’d be over the moon with that. Senior Member BaldingBogger Posted June 29, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted June 29, 2022 (edited) Looks like an excellent result and you should see some thickening up of the grafts until 13-15 months for FUE. Id give it 18 months before going in again. I would possibly go for some temple points refinement but i would not lower the hairline any further. Sounds like high norwood baldness is in your family history. You are young and need to play the long game and keep your precious grafts as your crown could very possibly start thinning out in your 30's. My 2 cents anyway. Senior Member 1978matt Posted June 29, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted June 29, 2022 Unless stable and on meds I wouldn't go 'all-in' at age 26, especially given family history. Perhaps leave it until you hit 30+. 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day

victau
Hello, I am now at M15 of my transplant. I have seen a change in the size of the hair between M12 and M15, I must admit that I did not expect it. Doctors sometimes talk about a change until M15 or M18 and they are right. The coverage is stronger today than it was 3 months ago, which makes me even more satisfied. I'm going back to the doctor in mid-January to talk with him about the temples. I am attaching a few pictures with my hair wet (out of the shower, just a little dry with the towel) and a picture with my current cut. I am very happy with this procedure. Your are already looking great but if I were you, I would definitely go for those temples which would make a huge impact on your overall result. Thanks for sharing!
