Senior Member GoliGoliGoli Posted June 23, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted June 23, 2022 Hi all, I searched the forum but wasn't able to find a straight answer. Is scalp laxity only a concern with FUT? Is it essentially irrelevant with FUE?
Senior Member sl Posted June 23, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted June 23, 2022 Yes, Strip takes from surface area and for FUE it is not an issue as such. This video should give you some better understanding of both approaches. I represent Dr. Bisanga. Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted June 23, 2022 Administrators Share Posted June 23, 2022 Yes, scalp laxity is only a concern with strip, since they are excising a strip of tissue and suturing it back up. If you have tension the scar can stretch. It's irrelevant for FUE. 1 I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. I do not receive any compensation from any clinic. Rahal Hair Transplant
Goligoligoli, Yes, scalp elasticity is strictly an issue related to FUT strip rather than FUE. This is because both donor harvesting techniques are performed differently. With FUT, a strip of tissue containing hair follicles is harvested from the scalp, typically with a single scalpel. In order to garner the greatest number of hairs for transplanting, the surgeon will take as long and wide of a strip as possible. Now, scalp elasticity doesn’t come in to play in relation to the length of a strip but the more elastic your scalp is, The surgeon will be able to take a wider strip. The wider the strip, the more hairs available for transplanting there will be. I hope this helps.
