Dr Luis Nader, 2800 grafts, Crown

Folks, I will be updating progress on my hair transplant done by Dr Luis Nader for 2,800 grafts in the crown region.

The overall experience of getting the hair transplant done in Reynosa was without any hiccups. You fly into McAllen, Texas, stay in a hotel in McAllen, a driver picks you up on the day of the hair transplant and drives you to Dr Luis Nader's clinic in Reynosa. Dr. Luis is a great guy, very friendly and frank. He handles one patient in one day and does all the extraction and plugging the grafts into crown himself. This is the biggest reason why I chose Dr. Luis over clinics in Turkey. Costs, proximity, and reputation were other reasons I looked into.  I am going to hold off on the verdict until my final crown area is developed (4 - 12 months), but hoping all goes well and I get dense growth in the crown area.

Attached is a photo of Day 1.

Looks very densely packed. I’m interested to see this develop. Can you post a before picture?

How did you feel about Reynosa? I’m scheduled with Dr Nader in September.

A lot of people assume going anywhere in Mexico is cause for concern and dangerous, but I don’t so I just made the appointment without any regard. Assumed it’s a border town next to one of the safest cities in Texas so it is probably chill.

I just started reading about it and apparently it’s infested with the cartel and active fights between law enforcement and cartel have waged in the not too distant past.

I recognize that no cartel is gonna target Mr. Only Here For A Hair Transplant but did you feel comfortable during the hours you spent in Reynosa?

The work looks good and densely packed the only thing that caught my eye is the bruising in the donor. Did Nader mention anything in regards to it?

The donor area has actually all pretty much healed. 2,800 gone trafts were removed from the donor area, one third from each section. I would say the extraction was pretty painless.

Dr Nader has a designated driver that comes to your hotel in McAllen, TX and picks you up around 8 am on the day of your appointment. You drive around 20 minutes to get to the border, and then another 10 minutes through Reynosa to get to the clinic. The clinic building has a metal door that is locked that you have to go through. You don't leave the clinic for no reason until the procedure is done. I felt comfortable during the drive and while at the clinic.  Hope this helps.

I am 40 years old. I don't have much hair loss in the front and didn't add any grafts to the hairline as part of this procedure. This is my first procedure.

Not a very common hair loss pattern, but definitely does happen.

Still early days but interested to follow this!

2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now.

Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018.

Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week.

Wrote a book for newbies called Beating Hair Loss, available on Amazon
