SMP California - Does anybody in the US do Hyper Realism?

Recommended Posts

Hi Team,

So in tattooing, there are artists who specialize in hyper realism. I'm often in California, and I have not encountered anyone who I feel is a cut above the rest in that regard. I often see the basic super hard hairlines, and hair density that just doesn't look realistic to me.

I did check out Mens Ink in milan to see their work, and it was impressive.

Is there anybody in the states that specializes in the hyper realistic art for SMP

I think the biggest issue with SMP artists is that most artists post images of the results RIGHT AFTER the last session; causing the pigment to look very dark, larger and still red.  It's known to be dishonest.

In my opinion SMP looks the most realistic after a few months time.

Here is an example of dishonest results;

I agree that is an issue, though I wouldn't blame it all on dishonesty. You have to appreciate how difficult it is to get someone to come back just to take pictures. Alot of people travel to get SMP done just like they do for hair transplants.

I totally agree, the healed faded grey tone looks so much more natural than the specially black unhealed state.
