Dr. Arocha | PRP Case Study

Recommended Posts

This patient came in to see Dr. Arocha for an FUT procedure with a PRP treatment at the same time. These photos are an interesting case study. The PRP traveled down his face, so when he came in for his three month follow-up, the patient and Dr. Arocha noticed significant improvement to the density in the patient’s eyebrows and eyelashes, which was a residual benefit to the treatment. I look forward to sharing an update on his actual hair transplant when he comes in for his six month follow-up. He had noticeable density improvement in his beard also, but he was wearing a mask, so we don’t have any great photos of that, but I’ll ask doc to take some photos when he’s in next.

Interesting to see some photographic documentation of this. I recall discussing my PRP with Dr. Arocha around the five or six month mark after my first treatment and mentioning that my facial hair seemed slightly more robust even though that area had not been directly treated, but I had no way to know for sure because I hadn't thought to take photos of those areas.

It was certainly interesting to see in person as well. We require patients to wear a mask, but his beard also had quite a bit of benefit. But, his eyelashes (and brows) were so much more dense. We started to see some result from his actual hair transplant, too. He's coming back in a couple of months, and I'm looking forward to seeing his hairline as well. I'll show it here. Just figured it would be neat to show some of the other benefits of PRP that aren't always widely known. I'd be interested to hear if other patients who received PRP have seen added benefit to their facial hair as well!

Greetings HTN community,

This is Dr Arocha. I have been hearing from patients that their facial hair had thicken after their prp for about a decade. At first, I laughed and told them, I had not gone near their facial hair. But after witnessing a few cases, I figured that prp often produces some swelling,.. that the swelling travels down the face to be absorbed at the cervical lymphatic chain. That started to make sense.

Hi Arochaangel,

that is pretty neat. How have your results been for actual scalp hair with regards to PRP alone. Do you know what concetration prp do you guys utilize? (6x baseline, 10x baseline) so on?

Hi shiba1985,

Thank you for your interest. We do concentrate the prp 6X, but the volume of our high-grade enhanced prp is greater than the volume of blood drawn at some places. More volume and higher prp concentration equates to more growth factors delivered.
