Hi Everyone,

I am new here, and one of my mates suggested viewing this forum. I am planning to get a transplant done by Dr Vikram soon, did anyone here have a transplant done by him? Is there anyone that could give me genuine feedback?

Planning for 2800 grafts and FUE

Norwood V ( At present)

Btw I can't travel overseas.

Tia.

Hi,

Personally i have not heard of this doctor so hopefully others can chime in but if anybody has used them before, if you use the search function and type Dr Vikram in hopefully you will find if there's any patient results.

Do you currently take any medication like Finasteride and can you share any pictures to help us see your situation. You can blur/block the face for privacy.

Also, which country are you resident in as it will allow users to see if there's alternate doctors in your country that are more recommended or have a track record you can see here.

Dr Vikram Oz.

Thanks

Ok 👌 @GatsbyIs very well informed with all of the Drs/Clinics in Australia, Personally I think you can do much, much better elsewhere. You have mentioned not being able to travel though, is that a temporary or permanent thing ?

I am not interested to do overseas considering post-op and travel. I think if I can find any surgeon better in oz that would be great. btw thanks for responding much appreciated @J.A.C

I know you said you aren't interested in overseas because of those factors but a few forum members from Oz like @Gatsbycan offer you a significantly better opinion as they live in Australia.

Is there anything that could help you overcome the barriers to going overseas do you feel?

It’s unfortunate their is no real decent choice in you’re home county, so many others have traveled to Thailand @_lshyand India @Gatsby. Once the hair transplant is done it’s mostly keeping it sprayed with saline and then the washing days later. What I’m saying is that the after care is done by the patient whichever Dr/Clinic is chosen. Some people choose to fly or travel the day after, just something to think about. It’s worth considering travel to get the best Dr/Clinic, I have gone local (Uk) but have got better results elsewhere in Europe.

I really have to go to bed as I’ve just got home from a 16 hour shift. But @Taures I will promise to answer your post in full tomorrow morning. In the meantime, just Google Dr Vikram Jayaprakash, New Zealand and fraud for starters.
IMHO if you aren’t able to fly for permanent, life altering surgery that you have to look at in the mirror everyday, then if you live in Australia, please save yourself thousands and thousands of dollars and the reality of living with the results. I’ll log back in tomorrow. All the best.

You really need to spend a lot of time researching when it comes to permanently physically altering your appearance. You owe it to yourself to do enough research and background checks to ensure you are comfortable on who it is that you are paying to perform surgery on you. The cosmetic industry is based on making money on people's vulnerability. In our case it happens to be hair loss. Now obviously there are some incredible and amazing surgeons who want nothing but the best for their patients. But @Taures I have spent 37 years now researching and having consultations on the surgeons that operate in Australia and several overseas and Australia literally doesn't have anyone who is skilled enough or has had the time in surgery to prevent doubles occurring in the hairline, or being skilled enough to be able to perform more than 1,000 grafts in a day and I can go on and on. One well know surgeon (Dr Rhett Bosniach) in Australia died of a recreational drug over dose (only a few years ago) with his wife and they never woke up in the morning. Can you imagine being a patient and you are being operated on by a surgeon who is high or who is coming down off drugs? Now I'm not here to bad mouth and bash surgeons in Australia. But this is your scalp that you will be left with looking at for the rest of your life in the mirror. You only get one shot to get it right as you should as you're paying for it. But even then things can go wrong that are outside the parameters after having all the boxes ticked. That's why you need to look at patient results that have an excellent outcome on a consistent basis over many years. You need to see who are the surgeons who are responsible for these results and ask them lots of questions. You also need a plan when it comes to surgery to address your hair loss over the life span. What I don't get is that people take more time in organizing and researching for a two week holiday than they do for life altering surgery that lasts forever????

I was butchered by a surgeon when I was very, very young and currently there is another thread at the moment about a 23 year old young guy in the UK who who also didn't do his research like I didn't (although there was no internet at the time) and is now paying the price for having surgery with someone local. The inconvenience of having to spend 10, 20 hours etc in the air and having to stay in a hotel for a night or two is minuscule and soon forgotten within a week afterwards compared to the results of a bad hair transplant performed because it was only a 20 minute drive away. You will find all of the top tier surgeons in the world mostly have patients who are from overseas. The reason for this is because these patients have done there homework and research. I urge you to really consider surgery if this is of no interest to you. Wishing you all the best mate!
