Health insurance with overseas HT

Hi again everyone,

My post last week about Australian surgeons made me consider going overseas and I'm currently researching Pekiner in Turkey.

My biggest question is regarding health insurance given that you're flying overseas for a medical procedure?

I know that HT are a relatively low risk procedure, but the use of twilight sedation and infections means the risk is always there.

What is everyone's opinions on health insurance to cover if something were to go wrong overseas?

It may be hard to find insurance that will cover the surgery. I think it is fairly low risk though - I have only read of one horror story and that was done at a hairmill.

I agree, I bought mine to protect me from an extended stay due to Covid.

Are you having FUT? What is twilight sedation?

If it's FUE, I think they just give you a mild sedation.

Health insurance generally covers emergencies anywhere in the world. Keep in mind, you may have to pay out of pocket and submit for reimbursement.

Covermore. I have always taken health insurance out everytime I head overseas and it has saved my bacon big time in Thailand once. If you go to Flight Centre they recommend Covermore. I've never had a problem with them.
