Hair spray after surgery

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, how long should I wait before applying hairspray to my hair that wast impacted by the surgery? I didnt get a full shave and can style my hair to the front to cover up the impacted parts. Im now 1 month post surgery. Is it safe to start applying hair spray to the rest of my hair? The recommodations on that differ from what Ive found. Can I do any damage when small amounts of hairspray reach my scalp?

thank you :)

Flolitto,

If the hair you are applying hairspray to has not been transplanted or touched by surgical hair restoration, then you can pretty much apply the hairspray to the area right away. Just be careful not to spray the area of the scalp that was recently transplanted. It’s not that the hair itself would be affected or damaged by the spray however, you could irritate the scalp as it contains alcohol and other ingredients that could cause inflammation, stinging or itching.

if the area you are trying to spray is too close to the transplanted area, to be safe you could always wait about two weeks or so to give the area a chance to heal. Otherwise, just spray gently with a pump spray rather than an aerosol can which would be ideal.

best wishes,
