Regular Member 12345 Posted March 27, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted March 27, 2022 I've been growing my beard as of lately, and I tend to pluck out my beard hair when I am under stress and have noticed how thin and crinkly my beard hairs are. Kind of reminds me of pubic hair to be honest. Never really took the time to notice, but now that HT is more on my mind I am more conscious. I wonder how these hairs can even be used as donor hairs for head transplants given the difference in texture, and the fact that beard hair doesn't grow as fast as head hair, and has a length limit. Can someone explain?
Senior Member Future Hair Doc Posted March 27, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted March 27, 2022 Beard hair can be used and it tends to be thicker than scalp hair. It does grow more slowly than scalp hair. We typically use it for filler purposes behind the hairline, around the crown, etc. 2 My advice does not constitute a patient-physician relationship nor as medical advice and all medical questions/concerns should be addressed to your medical provider.
