Regular Member Rmp Posted March 26, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted March 26, 2022 Hey guys! Fairly straightforward question - as mentioned in the title, I’m a little over 5 and a half months post FUE, and wondering - when is it safe to spend time in the sun without a hat? Not a crazy long period of time, just sunning by the pool for and hour or so.

Senior Member JoeMan Posted March 26, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted March 26, 2022 Dr. Ferreira recommend not getting sunburned for 1 year. Not exactly sure what happens if so.
Senior Member SD1984 Posted March 26, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted March 26, 2022 You want to avoid any kind of UV rays, whether from the actual sun or a tanning bed, for many months after a transplant. Based on all I've read though, you should be in the clear within 4-6 months. That being said, even if you did go into the sun after that timeframe, I'd still make sure it's very moderate and that you don't end up burnt at all.
