Help with decision on Doctor

I have been researching to get a hair transplant for a while now and when first researching did not know about this forum.  I was mostly on Google and Youtube, which now I know are not reliable sources for a hair transplant.  I know a few people that went to Dr. Serkan Aygin and they had, what seemed to me, good results.  I consulted with one of his people and was almost ready to book something with him.  However, I decided to research more and Reddit and RealSelf led me here.  After reading multiple bad reviews on RealSelf about his clinic and all sounded similar and then just one bad review about his clinic on here, I decided to not pursue his clinic anymore.  I have been researching and reading multiple threads about multiple doctors on this site and contacted most of them to get an evaluation.  I have not taken finasteride or minoxidil due to prior health issues and do not want to risk anything with my health by taking them.  I have also included pictures of my current hair and would appreciate any advice.  I included Aygin's quote just as a comparison for what others quoted me.  I know that there are top quality doctors that charge 2 euro per graft, but that's beyond my budget.  I was hoping to go with Dr. Demirsoy but he just increased his price to 1.50 euro per graft, which would be the highest I would be willing to pay for.

Serkan Aygin (will not use, just here for reference)

  • Method: FUE
  • Session 1 Grafts: 4200 (may change when seen in person)
  • Session 1 Price: 2900 euro
  • Session 2 Grafts: 3800
  • Session 2 Price: 2600 euro

Dr. Yaman

  • Method: DHI
    • Session 1 Grafts: 4500 (2500 hairline and frontal third, 1400 grafts midscalp/frontal mid, 600 grafts crown)
    • Session 1 Price: $2900
  • Method: Sapphire FUE
    • Session 1 Grafts: 4500 (2500 hairline and frontal third, 1400 grafts midscalp/frontal mid, 600 grafts crown)
    • Session 1 Price: $2000

Dr. Ibrahim Jebai

He is in Lebanon and I know someone who went there and they are really happy with the work.  Spoke with them and doctor does the openings and has techs with 8 years of experience do implantation.  Can pay more to have the doctor do the implantation.  Didn't find much about him on here but RealSelf had really good reviews.

  • Method: FUE
  • Session 1 Grafts: 4500 (hairline to midscalp/frontal mid)
  • Session 1 Price: $4000

Armamed - Dr.Demirsoy

  • Method: FUE
  • Session 1 Grafts: 3500-4000 (hairline to midscalp/frontal mid)
  • Session 1 Price: 1.50 euro per graft
  • Session 2 Grafts:
  • Session 2 Price: 1.50 euro per graft

HDC (too expensive for me, contacted just to see evaluation)

  • Method: FUE
  • Session 1 Grafts: 3500 (hairline and frontal third)
  • Session 1 Price: 2.50 euro per graft
  • Session 2 Grafts: 2500 (midscalp/frontal mid)
  • Session 2 Price: 2.50 euro per graft
  • Session 3 Grafts: 1500+ (crown)
  • Session 3 Price: 2.50 euro per graft

Dr Demirsoy is the one that leaps out to me here. Long been a reliable/consistent Clinic… I would have also said Dr Bicer (€2 per graft) which may be outside your budget now, but she is absolutely worth saving up for, or split your ht in to 2 sessions..

If you can't afford a decent surgeon, don't get surgery. Bargain shopping for doctors is never a good idea. Dr. Yaman is recommended and is probably the cheapest I would opt for.

I agree, we will need to reach out to him, I'm concerned as well. @digi23 is developing well, though, the temples are of concern. I will be following the progress closely, to see if we need to make changes to the list.

Here in the Uk the prices being advertised + 10% discount is waaaay to cheap… When others were increasing, Dr Yaman decreased.. Bicer + Demirsoy are worthy of the increase in costs IMO.

Thanks for the information! I have seen his transplant post and would have booked Dr. Yaman already but the hairs coming out in the wrong directions concerns me.  I appreciate all the advice you and @JC71 have provided.

No rush 👍🏽 Take your time here… even the cheaper packages at Eugenix would serve you well !

This ^

You can be quoted a cost per graft and how many grafts will go into specific scalp areas. However it's when the hair matures at 12 months (roughly) that you really see how many graft each area may really need. Also remember MPB is progressive. Even on medication some people state that their hair loss slowly progresses so you have to factor in the costs of future surgery/ies. I'm not telling you which doctor to pick but have a look at surgeons who turn out results on a huge level on patients that have the same hair loss and goals that you are wanting. Some surgeons are able to achieve the illusion of greater coverage and density with less grafts then another surgeon. If it costs more than your budget then you are better off to save up and take your time. As @BRITA-XL stated take your time. All the best!

I would agree with melvin but i can even understand that people do have a certain budget and they want to have surgery badly...its tough to find good surgeons who are cheap...actually Google reviews don't matter..its nt that a surgeon is bad if there is one or two poor outcome ...tht can be happen with any surgeon ....bt we consider someone to be bad if he is consistently producing bad results or would have botched up the patient few times and doesn't involve is surgery and just let the patient be under the hands of some flying techs and do too many surgeries in a day and just run everything like a corporate business...

From your list i would say you can go with demirsoy and i would suggest one more doctor which is not in your list..his name is dr gur and his vip package is 1.5 euros per grafts as well ...both of them are good ethical and experienced surgeons you can choose from...if u can't afford 1.5 euro than i would say don't rush for more grafts and break your surgery in 3 phases...go for a conservative hairline and you will need around 2k-2.2k which will frame your face as of now and than save up the money and have another session after may be 2 years..you can do it likewise and you will be under safer hands ....
