I’m not using minodoxil. It’s more than likely the SMP I had done about 18 months ago. I wouldn’t say it looks blue though. Lol

Than i guess it stands out only cos recipient area still has redness....once hair grows and skin heals back to normal everything will be good!

8 week update chaps. All going well and as expected at this stage. There is definitely some early growth there which you can see better if you zoom in but it’s obviously still very early stages. Had the odd pimple appear in the recipient area but nothing major. I thought I would post pictures now as I’m planning on running the clippers over it over the next few days to buzz cut it down to one length.

I have booked up to go back out to see Dr Ferreira in December to get my beard done! At this time he will obviously check over my hair also and improve any areas which need attention.

BTW Im still waiting for the clinic photos to come across but when they do I will post them here.

Wow it's been two months already. Your hair looks to grow back very quickly from the buzzcut. Hopefully thats a good thing for the transplanted hair as well. I have a feeling that by month 3 you will already have some nice growth.

Looking good! Did you have to pay a 1k€ down payment again? I keep thinking about scheduling a return visit and let him just touch up any weak areas if I have any. He's getting so booked up that I fear if in 8 months I decided I want a touch up, I'd have to wait another 14 months after that.

Are you filling your beard in? Where do they get the hair from?

Yes I paid another 1k deposit for the beard transplant. Dr Ferreira only recommends using beard hair for beard transplants so it will be relocating beard hair from under the chin where it’s currently pretty thick to the cheeks where I have barely any. He said he would do around 1000 grafts but I’m hoping he can get a few more than that so it’s as thick as possible.

Man this looks good! I’ve been reaching out to a couple clinics but I don’t want to commit to anyone without hearing from Dr. Ferreira first 😅

Just know that he's currently booked up till Feb 2023.

Thanks for the heads up! I heard this from Alexandra via WhatsApp as well. Im on a waiting list for an assessment or consultation. I’m fine with 2023, or even later on that year since I want to take some time off work after to recover. I figured that the clinics I’m interested in like Ferreira or Freitas are pretty booked up for a while anyways.

What was the brand of the lab where you had your blood test and covid test done?

I’m not sure if the name. Alexandra booked it. It’s in the centre of Espinho so very convenient to get to.

Ok so after my last update I buzzed my hair all over down to a number 1. That was roughly 3 weeks ago so please see photos below of how things are looking today (Its now at week 11 post op). Definitely improving all the time and growing to the degree I would expect at this stage.

Coming along nicely. Appreciate the high quality photos as well. Out of interest what does Dr Ferreira charge per graft and do you know what his waiting times are like?

I paid 2.5euro per graft but his prices went up to 3euro per graft pretty soon after I booked mine (I booked a year in advance). I rebooked for my beard transplant for December 2022 and paid 3euros per graft but I hear soon after I booked his prices may now have raised again be 3.5euros per graft. I guess I’ve been lucky booking well in advance and have managed to avoid some of the price increases by the skin of my teeth. I don’t know for sure, but I also heard he’s pretty snowed under with work and has stopped taking new bookings currently. His waiting list was around 12 months when I booked but he’s getting super popular now that a lot of his results have been publicised. He’s a Very good surgeon and I’m glad I managed to get in with him when I did.

Ok so I posted my 11 week results a few days ago but now I’ve shaved my head again so I wanted to post pictures for anyone who’s wondering what a HT looks like at the circa 3 month mark with a shaved head. Please bare in mind that I did have SMP around 18 months before my HT so that kind of helps the look of having a shaved head (increases the illusion of density). The growth of the new hair seems well under way at this point. I’m seeing improvements week on week. The temporal points in particular seem to have growth in fast.

Looks good. Did you ask the Dr about shaving? I thought he said no clippers for 5 months. It seems excessive to me but just curious since I've considered buzzing mine soon

I didn’t ask him no. I just made sure I was careful and used a guard on the clippers. It can’t do any harm - the reason he likes you to let it grow out is so he can track the progress but I need to look smart for work so am over grown  head of hair that’s all different lengths is not going to work for me lol

I will probably let it grow out at this point as it seems to be growing in nicely now.

Lots of positives from the latest batch of photos

  • All options open regarding hair style, the buzz cut looks good.
  • Donor has healed well with minimal scarring.
  • Good growth in the recipient area.
  • The hairline suits you - good choice
  • Temple points look good.
  • Still only 3 months in!

How does the donor look in person?

You mention the growth in the temple points. Are you finding the transplanted hairs are blending in well or doing their own thing?

Donor looks great - you wouldn’t notice I’ve had it done IMO and from comments I’ve had.

the temple points look super natural and he’s used really fine blond hairs there that look perfect. He’s a true artist IMO. Hopefully the growth continues in the same vein and I will be alone happy customer.
