Hello again with a new update!

Pictures taken on April's fools day. So basically at week 20 (minus few days). Sorry for the quality of the pictures, I wish there I had someone taking them for me!

Thank you @CaliforniaLiving. I'm just not seeing much evidence of new growth coming through, so that's what worries me :) Although in comparison to the pre-op pictures the crown and front areas are a bit fuller and there is now a hairline, which I did not have before. I'll keep my fingers crossed I'm just a slow grower!

We are at the same stage in our HT journey. I think the 5 month mark is different for different people, Some show significant cosmetic change and others lag behind. I know it it is hard to wait but there is no other option. Time marches on to its own drummer. We are both committed so we just stay the course, My bet is your 6 month pictures will show a noticeable change for the better. Keep the faith!

Here they are :) Taken on 24th May, so at about 6 months and 1 week I think.

First bunch is with wet hair, second with dry hair. Lots of pictures as I was asked by the Doctor to send them to him for an evaluation.

Bro I was really worried abour your hairline at the 5 months mark...

Obviously we all know ASMED is a hairmill  and they have many bad results.

Thanks God your hairline seems to have improved tremendously during the last month. 🙏

I am happy for you bro  👍

It's still a bit thin but it's a decent result so far.

As for the crown, I saw immediately on the post op pictures there was gonna be an issue with density. I suggest you look into Pinto, Zarev, Sethi, Pitella, Wong if you are chasing some real improvement on the vertex. Erdogan's  nurses have no clue on how to recreate good illusion of density on the crown. It's very challenging and you gotta choose a excellent doctor who specializes in that.

Thank you Jason! I am less worried and happier about the result 😊 As you said, it is still a bit thin but a decent result so far. Few months ahead of growth, I'll patiently wait to see how the final result will look like. I am also hoping to gain a bit more density in the crown area, as I am told it is the slower growing part. The incisions were made by Dr Erdogan's himself so I would hope he knows how to recreate a good illusion of density.. In any case, thank you so much for the names suggested, I will keep them in mind. But probably, even if the final result will stay as it is, I may decide it is good enough and not worthy a second surgery (yet at least, until my hair will thin more). I don't wear super-short hair and when they grow they are curlier, which luckily helps in making my hair look more dense.

Hello forum, 12-month update.

I will first post a bunch of pictures of me with wet hair, taken right at the 12 month mark (end of November 2022). Then some others taken shortly after with dry hair, just after a hair cut. And finally I will post few more pictures taken 1 month later, as I believe they better show the overall result.

And that's all folks!! Can't believe 1+ year has passed!

If some of you guys want to share your honest opinion, I am super-happy and curious to read it!

Personally, I am satisfied with the overall result. The improvement is clear. With wet hair and sharp light, the lower density of the transplanted area in the front becomes more evident, but this is normal I believe. After all a hair transplant just gives an illusion. The crown area unfortunately does not have a very good density even when the hair are dry, but I can live with that. The donor area looks very good to me. I know ASMED has left some people very unhappy and is now regarded to be a hair-mill, and if I had learnt of this before my operation I would have chosen differently. Of course I have the doubt in my mind that if I had chosen differently my final result could have been better. Perhaps. But it could have gone worse too :)

With a similar number of  grafts and a 2 phased approach (hairline and frontal 3rd, then crown 12 months later) you could have achieved a better result from a top surgeon.  That being said, I would not class your result as necessarily a bad one. With a 2nd pass from a top surgeon I think you could be looking in a good position density wise.

Thank you @Sitries1! Fair point and something that definitely should be kept in mind by people reading this thread and who are considering a hair transplant. I knew that having this procedure done all at once could have led to less optimal results. I weighted the pros and cons of my circumstances and decided to take my chances. Long story short, I was mentally not in the right position to wait 2 years and go through 2 operations to get to the finish line. I needed my life to move faster :) All considered, happy with my decision! One day, maybe, I will consider a second pass, but I will wait for my hair to thin further
