Senior Member latinlotus Posted January 13, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted January 13, 2009 Crunch, along with other exercises that require neck flexion is not recommended shortly after HT due to the risk of scar stretching. I just found an interesting article about abs exercises that do not require crunch. Check it out! http://health.yahoo.com/expert...bs-without-crunches/ ******** I am not a doctor. Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted January 13, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted January 13, 2009 We advise no crunches or ab work for a month. Other than that, and arching the back benchpressing, we allow all exercise at 10 days. Even with a 2 layer closure, I don't want the neck skin stretched for a while. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H. Bill - Seemiller
Since I belong to a gym, there are a number of machines designed for abs. The one I use after my hair transplant is a simple one where you place your arms on the armrests and place your back to a mat. Then I do leg lifts. Do enough of them, and it really works your abs, and you don't strain your neck in the process. Bill
