Did you already cut it on your last pictures? It seems you already got this length at month 1 (non transplanted hair). I got my transplant 4 days ago and the itching is heavy. Did you experience this too? If yes, between which days and when did it go away/ease off? Good luck! Thank you! I recall you said you were getting yours in November. Happy that you took the step, exciting times ahead. Yes, I have been to the barber at about 1,5 months after surgery. Buzzed the sides down to 0,5mm and had the top at around 1cm. Really liked that hairstyle and as the front is not dense at all it helps to look a little bit more normal. Now however, I just feel like buzzing it all down again. Mayor plus on seeing the sides at 0,5mm was that you could not recognize anything on the donor. I used to wear my hair very short on the sides and I am happy to be able to continue doing this post HT. Concerning the itching it wasn't that bad that I wanted to scratch it that much, but when it did I used to spray the saline solution on it and that did the trick for me. The itching on the recipient pretty much stopped completely around the 10 day mark when all the scabs were gone. Please do be carefull with getting the scabs off, they should be really soaked so they can come off nice and gently. I was not patient anymore with my final small scab and pulled out about 20 hairs with it. Now I am sure they will grow back but it will take longer for sure.

Regular Member LeBerry Posted December 21, 2021 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 21, 2021 Hello everyone, BHR has shared the pre- and post-op pictures which are of a much better quality than the ones I manage to make:
Senior Member Gasthoerer Posted December 21, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted December 21, 2021 Interesting how far up and how far to the front the extractions go. Did the clinic mention why, especially the later? Did the clinic mention why, especially the later? Looking for fine singles? I wouldn’t say the extraction pattern is particularly high, I have seen other doctors go a lot higher anyway, put it that way. But yea, I agree it is interesting in this particular case some extractions coming from pretty much the temple area - OP must have had good density and no signs of miniaturisation in this region. OP - for 3 months you look far better than most, you are another BHR early grower for sure.

What the exact motivation has been would be interesting to find out from the clinic for sure!

Raphael84
@LeBerryYou are looking great and your hairline is starting to come in nicely at such an early stage. It is great to see. We appreciate your updates and documentation and you definitely have some exciting months to look forward to. In regard to extraction, as has been alluded to, laterals were strong without any signs of decline or miniaturisation. The height of the extractions do not present concern and in order to achieve the most natural result, finer, softer single hairs were utilised from above and in front of the ears in stable areas. You can see in what is a managed extraction approach, extractions have not been performed particularly low close to the nape and quite a cautious approach in the lower crown. In terms of visuals, it is the height (or lack of it) of the approach in the lower crown that actually gives the impression that lateral extractions are higher. Throughout the donor area, your can see significant distance and spacing between extraction sites that result in a lower percentage of extraction in each cm2 despite not utilising the full left mastoid and parietal area. Far more commonly seen is an aggressive focused extraction area in the back occipital region which can really limit patients in terms of high quality richer grafts in future surgery and healing is far more taxing on the scalp and blood vessels when more extractions are made over a smaller surface area which can add further decline. 1 Patient Advisor for Dr. Bisanga - BHR Clinic ian@bhrclinic.com - BHR YouTube Channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcH4PY1OxoYFwSDKzAkZRww I am not a medical professional and my words should not be taken as medical advice. Regular Member LeBerry Posted January 16, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 16, 2022 4 Months post surgery update Hello all, growth is starting to kick in nicely. After going for a short shaved hairstyle last month I did not cut it anymore this one, because I feel the density is already at a level where it is ok to start going back to a little longer hairstyle again. Now the hairs grow out I really start to appreciate the detail of the work done by Dr. Bisanga in making the incisions for the grafts to be in a natural direction. Looking forward to the coming months!

Regular Member LeBerry Posted February 14, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 14, 2022 5 Months post surgery update Hello all, 2 days early this time. Some more growth, some more maturing and a new hair cut. Honestly, if this would have been the final result, I would have already been satisfied. Let's see where it goes from here. Will grow the hair on the top a little longer and will stick with the fade. Next update will be next month!
