Regular Member BeadHead Posted January 26, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted January 26, 2021 I have few questions about wearing a hat after getting a transplant How soon can you wear a hat after a transplant? Can you wear one everyday as your waiting for the transplant hair to grow? After the first month can you wear any type of hat? Fitted, beanie, etc.. Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted January 26, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 26, 2021 You can wear a hat a few days after, but it needs to be loose. Don’t wear any tight headgear, especially beanies for the first week. Yes, you can wear a hat every day. I did. After your grafts have shed, you can wear any head gear, including beanies. 1 I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. I do not receive any compensation from any clinic. Senior Member gillenator Posted January 26, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted January 26, 2021 If you have FUHT, you have to be sure the hat does not put any pressure or stress on the strip scar or else it can stretch. And it's not just the outer layer of scalp tissue that can potentially stretch, it's also the underlayer (dermis) that takes longer to heal.
