I'd be interested to find out how thick your hair is, it looks incredibly thick and bushy. Seriously one of the best results on this site.

This is the data sheet I got from the consultation with Dr Rahal before my first surgery in 2014. However, this was an online consultation, so I guess it's not very accurate because I doubt the caliber of my hair is "fine". But I don't have more details in that regard.

I could ask Dr Gabel to hear his opinion about it.

Great results man. Your donor looks untouched.

Thanks! I wanted 500-1000 grafts more for the crown but Dr Gabel was very clear in that sense and he said that he didn't want to create a problem to solve another problem. But you're right, I can't feel any difference in comparison with before the operation to be honest

Looking great for 4 months! Good for you.

any chance you have some before/after pics from your first procedure?

Wondering if you were ever able to track any pics down from your first procedure with Rahal? Would be interesting to see where you really started from, before any interventions. Thx!

These are the only two images I could find ... if I find more, I will upload them.

Overall, I had very little hair (even less than it seems in these images). After the first procedure, results were great but during the following 6-7 years after Rahal's procedure, I had lost probably most of my native hair in the 1/3 of my scalp, and my hair loss progressed a lot in the back and crown, which made me think on the second procedure. Again, this reflect the importance about stabilize hair loss (if possible) before surgery.

Best,

Ruben

Such a great result already and plenty of time left for improvement. I’m happy for you. You’re at least the third patient I’ve seen who had a great result with Dr. Rahal but went to Dr. Gabel afterwards to complete everything with great success. Dr. Gabel does great work and is underrated. I was so close to going to him for my repair and I hope I never have to do another surgery again but if I do he’s at the top of surgeons I trust in this horrible industry.

Good morning everyone,

I'm glad to share with all you guys the half way (theoretically) of the journey: 6 months update after my FUT+FUE procedure with Dr. Gabel.

Again, I tried to take pictures in different light environments: living room (natural environment light), close to the window (sun light) and bathroom (harsh light).

Personally, I'm happy as it is and my expectations are covered. So any improvements in the next few months would be like an "extra" to me.

Keep doing minoxidil 5% two times a day (but very little amount on each application) and 0.5 mg finasteride per day.

Have a nice weekend!

Hello everyone!

It seems incredible but next week I will be hitting the 12-month mark after my procedure with Dr. Gabel. No big changes since my last update (at 8th month) and everything seems stabilized now.

Pretty amazed with the final result - I had high hopes, but this surgery exceeded my expectations. Last round of pics :): A couple of pre-op pics and some pictures from today under different light conditions, including harsh-lighting in the restroom.

Hope all you are doing great!

Also, any idea what the breakdown was for graft placement ? How many in frontal third vs midscalp va crown

you achieved pretty amazing crown coverage.

Thanks!

I don't have any good pic of the scar. But I can definitely take some if you are interested. I will ask my wife ... pretty difficult to get them by myself. I can anticipate you that the scar is barely noticeably. Gabel did an excellent job also in that sense. I can wear very short hair style with no visual impact.

Regarding the breakdown, this is the info I got:

Day 1- FUT (2,435 grafts) to reinforce front-mid scalp and gain density

1-hair 444 (18.2%)

2-hair 1,296 (53.2%)

3-hair 539 (22.1%)

4-hair 156 (16.4%)

Day 2- FUE (1,066 grafts) to gain density in the crown

1-hair 94 (8.8%)

2-hair 537 (50.4%)

3-hair 379 (35.6%)

4-hair 56 (5.3%)

Before the procedure, we were discussing around 2,000 grafts for crown area, but the day of the crown surgery (second day of procedure), Dr Gabel decided to go with 1,000 instead. He didn't want to create any trouble in my donor area, which I appreciate. In his own words "I don't to solve a problem creating a new one".

Maybe these two pics help you to see where the grafts were placed.
