Month 4 Update

I didn't do a 3 month update because there wasn't much difference. But it's starting to take shape at 4 months (technically 17 weeks).

Just got a haircut. I didn't shed all my hair so what remained started growing. I can feel stubbles on my scalp, but that's been going on for a while now. I've also switched to topical fin/min solution (Minoxidil Max). Not sure how well it's working but the mild side effects from oral fin have subsided, so that's good.

I'm excited about the new growth to come. The next 2 months should be exciting!

It's not super clear in the photo, but I have a bit of a slow-to-grow patch on my right side in the mid-scalp area. There was native hair there before, so I'm thinking it's just some shock-loss and it'll recover over the next couple months.

Hey buddy. Congrats on your growing! I would say everything looks perfect for a 4 month case. Would you share with us who was/were the doctor(s) in your case? If more than one also please specify by days who did extractions and implantations.

Thanks man and happy growing!

Thanks man and happy growing!

Most of the transplant was performed by Dr. Cengiz and Dr. Elif, both days.

I think they both did extractions and implantations. I don't remember that well.

Month 5 Update

My best month so far. Lots of new growth and noticeable density improvement. I still have some pimples (ingrown hairs) coming through, as expected. There are still some thinner, lagging areas, visible in harsh light. But I'm actually able to use hair product (thickening paste) now and that's exciting, too.

Month 6 Update

Ok, 6 months will be in 3 days. Hair still growing. The improvement over the last month is less dramatic, but I can see the lagging areas catching up. I'm pretty happy! If it were to stop improving today, I'd still be happy. But who doesn't want more hair?!

Still taking topical fin/min combo about 4-5 times per week. And biotin.

Got a haircut but I'm growing out the front. Want to try something new. No fibers or anything like that, but I have a very small bit of hair product in to give it some shape. These pictures are in very bright light, about 2 feet from my window.

And if I stand back away from the harsh light from the window, the density looks great. :D

Looking very young and vibrant. Pretty sure you said you were around 50, which is hard to believe. Seems like a great result so far and it should continue to improve over the next few months.

Would you say the density feels pretty uniform throughout the entire transplanted area?

At 6 months, there are still a couple lagging areas. But they are better than they were a month ago, so those areas are catching up. I'm most impressed with the development of the hairline. It's exceeded my expectations.

The hair texture is a little course, which many people experience. It will mature over time and resemble my native hair.

Sure. I've added a photo above.

Thanks. Did you get any shock loss in the middle portion of your hairline where you had transplant hair implanted in between the existing hairs? If so, did they all grow back? I'm looking to add some density behind my existing hair line and was worried about shock loss.

I don't know if I'd call it shock loss, but there's a patch on my right side, behind my hairline, that's lagging. I mention it above. It's much better than 2 months ago, definitely improving. It was super thin pre-surgery. At 6 months, the hairline (at 50 grafts/cm2) is better than the mid-scalp (at 40/cm2). I can see scalp under harsh light. So I think it's possible that my native hair might be slow to regrow.

My only concern at this point is my donor area. I think the thinner density is resulting in my hair not laying down as is did before. I'm Mexican, so when short, my hair doesn't lay flat anyways. The hair on the back of my head feels more outward. I can either go shorter, like a fade, or grow it longer. Ethnic hair, ugh!

A good HT is easily worth the cost. You look fantastic!

Thanks! I was prepared to pay Konior-level money. So they way I look at it, I saved money by going to Turkey. Zero regrets. If had the chance to do it over, I wouldn't change a thing. :)
