Senior Member Coady Posted November 14, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 14, 2020 I am planning on getting my crown done and then moving abroad a few weeks later. Most Clinics say to avoid the sun for 6 months. How do people manage that live in hot climates? I don't want to ruin my transplant or have red scarring. Senior Member aaron1234 Posted November 14, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 14, 2020 Heat won't be a problem, but direct sunlight will. Wear a hat, because a sunburn can ruin your transplant. 1 Dr. G: 1,000 grafts (FUT) 2008 Dr. Paul Shapiro: 2,348 grafts (FUT) 2009 ~ 1,999 grafts (FUT) 2011 ~ 300 grafts (Scar Reduction) 2013 Dr. Konior: 771 grafts (FUT) 2015 ~ 558 grafts (FUT) 2017 ~ 1,124 grafts (FUE) 2020 My Hair Transplant Journey with Shapiro Medical Group
Senior Member Coady Posted November 14, 2020 Author Senior Member Share Posted November 14, 2020 Baseball cap can cover the transplanted area. Not fully cover the doner. If their is good hair lenth on the doner would that be ok?
Senior Member aaron1234 Posted November 14, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 14, 2020 Instead of a baseball hat wear an Australian slouch hat. Adapt to your new environment. 👨🌾 1 Dr. G: 1,000 grafts (FUT) 2008 Dr. Paul Shapiro: 2,348 grafts (FUT) 2009 ~ 1,999 grafts (FUT) 2011 ~ 300 grafts (Scar Reduction) 2013 Dr. Konior: 771 grafts (FUT) 2015 ~ 558 grafts (FUT) 2017 ~ 1,124 grafts (FUE) 2020 My Hair Transplant Journey with Shapiro Medical Group
Senior Member Future Hair Doc Posted November 14, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 14, 2020 You'll be fine if you don't get too much sun exposure. My advice does not constitute a patient-physician relationship nor as medical advice and all medical questions/concerns should be addressed to your medical provider.
