Thats shocking, were you completely bald though before? Can you share a pre-op photo before Rahal?

This is my pre-op picture when I was 26 jus lt before having my HT with Dr. Rahal.

I would say the only hair you have left is transplanted, you still had a great deal of hair which you eventually lost. I’d say you’re a Norwood 3 here, and have ended up a Norwood 6/7. I don’t think the transplant itself has thinned at all. It looks like 3,500 grafts on a Norwood 6/7.

Are you taking any meds? I suspect that you were destined for higher norwood and probably lost hair because of no medication?

yes I lost it all because I didn`t stick with Finasteride but I`m hoping to get it all back with my current HT that is still growing and possibly a third.

You lost your transplanted hair because you didn't take finasteride?

Lost my midscalp and crown due to not taking Finasteride.

However, my HT with Rahal thinned out dramatically over the past 12 years.

I don’t think that is true at all, if you look at your pre-op, you had a significant amount of hair in the frontal zone, mid and crown. It’s clear that you would be a Norwood 6/7 without any hair transplants.

This looks like 3,500 grafts on a Norwood 6/7.

I respectfully disagree, I think it looks closer to 1,500-2,000 grafts.  I believe @Portugal25 when he says his transplanted hair thinned out.  This does happen to guys with aggressive hair loss, especially when they quit the meds.  I think it's good he's back on fin, for the sake of his donor and sides.  When you think it can't get any worse, it can.

@Melvin-Moderator I have to agree @aaron1234 because what I have left in my frontal hairline doesn’t look like 3425 grafts much less when it was rebuilt by a master FUT Doc like Rahal.
I do agree that the hair I had in my front disappeared due to not taking Finasteride but it would be this dramatic change.

@Portugal25 I agree that definitely does not look like 3500 grafts. Did Dr. Rahal mention you had donor miniaturization before surgery when he analyzed your hair?

My sides have also thinned and two doctors have confirmed I have slight DUPA in my donor, so it's of particular concern to me.

I had my second HT this year and Pekiner would have aborted my surgery if I had any miniaturized hairs.

It’s strange how it seems my HT didn’t held up and I hope it won’t happen again.

All questions I will be asking @Dr. Bruno Ferreiranext week.

@Portugal25  I also requested a consultation with Dr. Ferreira and analyzing my pictures, he said he could see signs of DUPA but that my case was still doable given realistic expectations, and that I am on finasteride. I posted pictures of my donor area on this site so you can see them as well.

Hey, there is no quarantine in Portugal atm?

Hi mate,

No there isn’t, I'm currently in hotel and I have my procedure in the morning.

Im not sure on the rules for different countries but as I understand it any European countries and a few others do not require a covid test before entry but others do and maybe they require quarantine. You can find the official guidance on the internet for Portugal.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the prompt response. One more thing, I’m looking to go with Dr Bruno but I need it done between now and December 30. Is that possible? How long is his waiting list when you applied?

When I wanted to reschedule my procedure due to the lockdown in England from tomorrow to December the earliest they had was 14 January.

But peoples plans change and dates become available so there may be a chance if your timing is lucky, but i would think you are looking at January/February now.
