Help/ advice needed

Hi, I’m new on here and trying to get some advice on the best surgeons in Turkey. I’m overwhelmed by instagram posts which show amazing results and really want to go on recommendations on the best Doctors. I’m HIV+ so also mindful that when I’ve sent enquiries to doctors in the past ive been declined purely down to my status. I’m on antiretroviral drugs so have an undetectable viral load. I’ve just inherited some money and want to make sure I spend it wisely. Any advice would be hugely appreciated, Thanks, Tom

Before going any further please realise that Turkey is the Wild West when it comes to Hair Transplants. 
Do not be fooled by Instagram pics. Please research real patient reviews. This forum is a great start ! Look at the list of prescreened physicians. And maybe look at other places if your willing to travel.

Thank you. I’m aware that Turkey is the Wild West, although I’m sure there must be people on here that have had a good experience there? If anyone reading this has please let me know. I’m not looking for the cheapest option as I only want to do this once.

Thanks John, I’ve sent him a message. I’ve found earlier posts recommending AHD Clinic and ASMED clinics in Turkey who are apparently happy to treat HIV + undetectable patients, so will research them in the meantime.

@TomB listen carefully, I almost died at my first procedure at Turkey and my head was botched, the clinic called an ambulance and the paramedics determined I was poisoned due overdose of anesthesia with a low blood pressure, puked for 12 hours, squirming, didn't feel my body heat, you name it! Now I filled a sue with 4 more casualties, got no compensation, NOTHING, my donor was badly depleted too!

After a year I had a huge luck and Dr. Maras at HDC clinic in Cyprus repaired my scalp, couldn't be happier now and I represent HDC now

Anyway, don't fall for this Instagram fake black market clinics results, I was fooled by that!

I am trying to help another fellow with HIV, he was too was fooled by those Turkish black market clinics, they lied to him that they are "specialists" for paitents with HIV and guess what? He was botched too and now asking my help to find a PROFESSIONAL only clinic that follows the protocol with microscopes, unfortunately the clinics I officially represent don't take paitents with HIV, so I trying to find a professional clinic that will accept ppl with HIV.

You're asking the wrong question, you shouldn't be asking whose the cheapest option, but who gets the best results. There are affordable options outside of Turkey. Eugenix in India have some of the best results I've seen, particularly for Norwood 6/7s, and HDC clinic in Cyprus has excellent results for 2.5 per graft. They are not a hair mill that does 10 patients a day.

@TomB you should really follow @Doron Haratiand @Melvin-Moderator advise.

Turkey is the world capital of botched hair transplants because it`s mostly all inclusive hairmills or low cost doctors both using underpaid technicians without any medical background (former taxi drivers or dishwashers) to do your surgery.

Ofcourse there are also good options in Turkey but from what we have concluded at HRN only HLC Ankara is a safe bet in Turkey. Here you have a Doctor doing your whole surgery using a highly skilled technique but the price goes to 2.5€/graft.

If you are looking for a low cost option you should consider Dr. Demirsoy at 1.25€/graft but be warned that he does pre-made slits and has technicians do the implating phase. However, he does only have 1 patient per day.

If you really want low cost then go to Esma&Serkan Tetik (they now have 1 real patient results thread at HRN). These are nurses not Doctors or technicians doing all inclusive DHI (also using beard grafts) for 1400€ per 1-2 day surgery. The Adminstrator of the Turkish forum had his surgery with these Nurses.

It`s better to go to nurses with dozens with real patients results on the Turkish forum then going to a hairmill like Cinik or others and have a unknown technician do your surgery.

The other thing in the black market medical tourism in Turkey is that every taxi driver, shish kabab cutter is imposing himself as a "doctor", the Turkish government don't have any federal enforcment, as long as it brings tourists to the slaughter, they don't care, it's a sad joke, those so called "doctors", don't even speak basic English at all, how the hell a real MD doctor can't speak English?!

One of the reasons I disregarded Dr. Keser is exactly because he doesn`t speak English! How can a Doctor that doesn`t speak English attend a international conference where world class HT Doctors share knowledge and exchange ideas...

Dr. Keser also doesn`t use a microscope during surgery and is the most expensive HT Doctor in Turkey charging 3.5€/graft so that were also somehting that put me off.

Dr. Bruno Ferreira was one of the Doctors presenting at the last international conference and he charges 2.5€/graft so obviously I reccomend him over HLC that charges the same price.

@Portugal25 you pay ISHRS 70 Euros membership for that bullshit, although they have many great doctors but they don't check the clinic's product quality and I know many bad ones in those organizations, the tricky part is to find a real MD doctor but with good hands!

Hahaha Turkey even got MD doctors that can't sing the ABC song? Well I guess everything is possible if you bribe some ppl with money and Shish kabab.

Portugal, good list.  Yea you may have mass market clinics in any country where surgery is cheap.  Turkey can be good if you research well.  You cant just blacklist an entire country due to a few.  Hell,  what happened to me in Canada and California is not right.  I am left hanging with damaged scalp.  Those docs are known, but more costly.  At the moment, im trying to get fixed.  
 

hope you find a good surgeon.  It is all about how fast they rush and what their surgical protocol is.  Whether they pace your surgery or dense back it to risk damage.  Or if they use a tool tgat is detrimental for your type of hair or if they use a novice tech or nurse instead of the surgeon focusing.  Lots of factors.  Do not at all go for anyone doing a ht on you using a device with suction, saline suction or air suction.  Avoid any tool that is not used fully in the industry.  Ask doctors what tools they used for extraction.  Lots of questions to ask.  Do not fall in to the rep trap either.  Ask real patients and repair patients with your texture and caliber of hair.  
 

please be careful of the surgery- i am suffering and can tell you to not get confused but research and ask each doctor the same questions to get answers.
