That's really good to hear! When did it start getting better?

Also, I have another question if I may. My scalp has been slightly dry (not itchy) because of minoxidil. In the past I'd use castor oil or leave-in conditioner to make it better. According to my post-op instructions I can't really do that now. What do you think I should do?

Around 4 months. You can use pumpkin seed oil, or emu oil, they’ll be good for your scalp.

Hey hey Mickey! That strip scar is looking spectacular. Looks like you did the gentlemanly thing and removed your hat as you entered the room rather than that you've had any work done. I see the tissue is rebuilding too. The indentation is evening out with the rest of your scalp. SMP isn't going to be in your future after all brutha!

As for Minoxidil, I use 1% Nizoral 2x on MWF. Johnson's Baby Shampoo 2x on the other days of the week. I use both sparingly too. Like just a dab of the stuff that barely covers one finger tips. Amazing how much lather I can work up with that amount. Before any medical treatments on my hair, I always had dry flaky scalp. Sometimes, I would see larger than cornflake size patches of skin being held through strands of hair to my scalp that I'd pick out. But even with 2x a day of Minoxidial foam, that shampoo regimen has changed things around for me. Give it a shot if the oils fail you.

As for the ugly duckling phase, at day 56 (exactly 2 months in) I was a the absolute bottom depths of ugly duckling phase. Slowly but surely, started climbing out of the depths of that despair. Check the photo strip below. Month 3 for us HT patients is like winter ice beginning to thaw before heading into spring. Excited for you. Thanks for the update!

Month 3

Nothing really changed. My native hair just got longer. I have yet to see any hair from the surgery. Month 3 to 5 is when the ugly duckling phase should end. I guess we'll have to wait a little more.

You're actually right! I think I might have a bit of a tunnel vision... I have been primarily looking at my hairline.

Here's a final update of the donor area. After 3 months, the scar is hardly noticeable. Moving forward, I'll keep my hair this length and get low a fade.

On a side note, when can I use a clipper on my recipient area? I wouldn't mind getting a haircut...

Here's my first real haircut. I'm sporting a number 2. I don't usually wear my hair that short, it's usually longer and wavy. However my barber recommends I build my waves back up slowly.

Merry Christmas to you all btw 🙏

If I had to do all again, I'd go with FUE. I honestly think you've made the right choice. I would love to see your journey. I'm wishing you good luck for next week 🙏

After seeing @Aureliusresult, I started to think the opposite.
