Regular Member DeLatorre Posted August 14, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted August 14, 2020 Hi guys, I am 28 yo, was born with beard deficiency. Well, I would rather say absence. Me and the doctors I referred expected my beard to grow by 23-25. Few years ago I realized that there is nothing to wait for and started searching for the solution. Having no beard while all folks do, frustrating at least. I tried vitamins, solutions, creams; but all was useless. Finally, one of the doctors advised to do the transplant from hair to beard. This is where my journey start. For the first time I got excited and realized that I am so close to my kind of dream. I spared a couple months for research and my choice stopped on AHD Clinic. I contacted the center, they were very helpful and informative. Something inside me decided to trust this clinic. Once I scheduled the surgery in June, I decided to meet Dr. Doganay personally first for the consultation. To my fortune, he realized how beard and situation is important for me. He carefully listened to my expectations and said that he can design a good beard based on 2.500 grafts. All was set. The transplant lasted one day. I was afraid not to feel my chin and mouth for some day, but numbness passed few hours after the operation. I wanted to share some photos and my experience with you, because I am very happy with the results and doctor's job. I hope this publication will be useful for those who are in the same situation as I used to be. There is nothing to be scared of:) My beard before the operation: Beard Design Right after the beard transplant Once my scabs were out, I decided to do some shape correction. Dr. Doganay transplanted 250 more grafts to make a shape I desired. 17-20 day results 1 month This is the most frustrating time, I am facing shock loss. Every lost follicle gets me upset, but doctor ensured that all of them regrow back... So, I guess I have to be more patient and 'tough' will keep you on the loop ... Senior Member ciaus Posted August 14, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted August 14, 2020 Wow that's impressive, your post op pics show a good match between your scalp and facial hair. Nice part is while you wait you can easily just keep shaving them off. Are you otherwise rocking a full head of hair? Did the doc say anything about watching for hairloss on your head more carefully now, in case you need to start fin/min to conserve your remaining donor hair? 2,500 is a pretty big chunk of what you have available. So, i have a few questions if you dont mind. Did the doctor perform the surgery himself. Was it fue or DHI. How did the healing go?

Hello Morocci, I asked my clinic to show me few beard transplant results, so they did, they seem to have plenty (done by team or Dr himself). At the clinic they had 2 options. One was transplant by Dr. Doganay, another - by his technician team; cost differs. I selected transplant by technicians as I had limited budget, but dr was the one who consulted me, designed the shape, instructed his techs, and he said he is responsible for outcomes. So, I trusted. They used both: FUE and DHI (motored tool for extraction (looking like tattoo pen) and pen implanter for planting). I think, the healing goes well. Here is my last pic.
