What are miniaturised hairs?

I have read reference on the forum to miniaturised hairs.

Could someone briefly explain what this means?

Hairs that have been affected by DHT - and have become weak and shrunk in size.

Okay, so the diameter has reduced.

Does this reduction in diameter ever reverse due to any medication and/or treatment?

Hair that is genertically programmed to be lost will shed, regrow, shed regrow....over and over again, except each time the follicle shrinks smaller and smaller.  Hence the hair shaft gets thinner and thinner.  Eventually it just turns to microscopic hair fluff like you would have on normally bald areas, like the back of your hands.

Some say if hair miniaturised below 50% it won't be able to regrow, but I'm not sure if that's been proven.
In any way Finasteride could help to stop/slow down progression of MPB and Minoxidil could help to regrow existing miniaturised hair. However such "artificial" boost can be kept as long as the medication is taken.
