Washed hair on the same day of FUT surgery

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I recently had a FUT surgery and I washed my hair after 6 hours. However, I was very gentle while washing (following cup instructions) and I didn't see a graft falling out or holes or bleeding in transplanted area.

I am just getting worried that it might impact the whole procedure.

Using a cup you're probably ok.  Just don't go directly under the shower head for a few days and make sure the water isn't hot.  Aren't you returning to the clinic for a cleaning anyways?

Thanks @aaron1234 for reassuring. It helps!

It has already been 12 days since the surgery. I showed to the doctor after 2 days of the surgery and he said everything looks good and to be honest I didn't see any grafts falling. Since a day or two I started observing the hair shedding and scabs falling with small hair which I know maybe due to starting of the resting period.

But getting a bit nervous.

I got my HT in Texas but I am from California, hence the clinic never asked to return for cleaning or anything..

If you knocked loose a graft you would have seen blood.  It'd have been ugly.  Who was your doc?  Care to show pics so the community can give you feedback?

Dr. Arocha does great work and I think your photos are looking good.  I'm very interested to hear about the exosomes treatment as it's quite a new treatment.

Thanks a lot for having a look.

Will keep you updated on the exosomes result. :) I got it done in the crown area, since I am stage 1 in that region.

I believe it takes about 1-3 months to show up some improvements.

Quite interesting topic. I myself had surgery at Hasson and Wong they want you back in the clinic the next morning for shampoo and washing. They gently slide shampoo with fingers in a forward direction and then rinse off. No hard scrubbing but some gently hand motion forward. They then examine the recipient site.

Generally if the clinic does the wash the next day they know what they are doing. Me at likely only if you forcefully rubbed you would have damaged the grafts.
