Based on the pictures I agree with just about everyone who has responded.  I was a solid Norwood VI and had about 7,000 grafts performed in two surgeries.  I did have very good donor area which made my decision much easier.  You may want to visit my website and compare yourself.  MyFUEhairtransplant.com

I am an online representative for Carolina Hair Surgery & Dr. Mike Vories (Recommended on the Hair Transplant Network).

You've spoken to a  lot of hair restoration surgeons, but what have they said about the balding spot below your vertex? What's causing that?

The same thing (DHT) that causes hair loss in other areas.  He's simply getting closer to realizing his final NW7 pattern.  All the hairs above that spot will eventually go as well.

Dr. G: 1,000 grafts (FUT) 2008

Dr. Paul Shapiro: 2,348 grafts (FUT) 2009 ~ 1,999 grafts (FUT) 2011 ~ 300 grafts (Scar Reduction) 2013

Dr. Konior: 771 grafts (FUT) 2015 ~ 558 grafts (FUT) 2017 ~ 1,124 grafts (FUE) 2020

It looks like something is rubbing that area away
