Steven Gabel, MD | 2,938 Grafts | 3 Years after Surgery | Portland Oregon | Video

Recommended Posts

This patient is a 37-year-old male who desired to increase the density of his hair in the frontal zone of his scalp. He has been on medication to help stabilize his hair loss for several years.

Examination revealed significant hair loss at the hairline, frontal zone of the scalp, and mid-scalp. The patient had moderate laxity in the donor area. His hair caliber was average in size.

After a lengthy discussion with the patient concerning treatment alternatives including hair restoration via the strip harvest method and the follicular unit excision harvest techniques, he opted for the strip harvest technique. The patient had 2,938 follicular unit grafts placed in the frontal zone and mid-scalp.

The photographs show the results after 3 years. The patient was in recently for routine follow up and refill of his medications. Overall, he is extremely happy with the results and the density from the hair restoration procedure.
