Help me Decide. Dr Hasson or Dr Bloxham

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have decided to get a hair transplant by end of this year and been doing my research from last 1 year. My top two are Dr Hasson from canada and Dr Bloxham from usa. I am from Canada but dont mind travelling to new York. Both of their work have been excellent. I did my consultation with both ( Spoke with Dr hasson representative and Directly with Dr Bloxham) and been told i need around 2500 grafts FUT for the frontal and hairline area.  I have not see any bad work from Dr Bloxham so far and seen one bad transplant from Dr hasson posted by @noob. Does anyone else have a good or  bad experience with any off the doctor and would like to share your experience.

Quite an odd choice of surgeons, i.e. one with 30 years experience and another with 5...

But I think both would do a great job.

If I had a specialised requirement such as temple points, I'd go with Hasson.  That's not to say Bloxham can't do them (I've not researched or looked much at his work) but I'd go with the established track record in that instance.

4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013

1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018

763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020

Proscar 1.25mg Mon/Wed/Fri.

Interesting, I hadn’t seen that thread before. That being said, H&W’s work particularly in the past year has been really good. They’re much more thoroughly documented than Dr. Bloxham, just by virtue of being around for a long time. There’s always some risk that you’ll have a bad result, and it’s likely that sooner or later we may see a lackluster result from Dr. Bloxham.

I would probably still go with Hasson and Wong in your shoes, but either way you have a very high probability of walking away satisfied. It’s almost like going on Yelp and choosing between a place with a 4.8 score and 5,000 reviews, and another with a perfect score and a few hundred.

I don’t want to be bias but those were my two choices as well. I’m sure you can see who I went with 👇.  It was for the simple fact of location I choose my doctor and that I was talking directly to him with made it more personal. In my opinion both are equal as far as probability of getting good result.

Go with your gut. But I’d say Hassan & Wong are the probably one of not the best clinic in the world in my opinion.

Another poster made the point already but worth repeating:

Hasson - 30 years at an Elite level > 30 years X 150 transplants a year = 4,500 HT's to his name.........I'm sure he's seen it all and learned from it......oodles and oodles of great results, patent posted, clinic posted going back years etc etc.

Bloxham-  5 years at 150 transplants a year = 750 HT's to his name........with some great results i must admit

Also a financial technical point - you would be converting the relatively weak Canadian dollar to pay Bloxham in USD............while its my understanding that H&W charge USD to international patients but local CAD to folks from Canada..........my guess then would be that H&W would come out cheaper for the same amount of grafts?
