When can I sleep normally after my transplant?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

It's my third night since my hair transplant and I'm struggling to sleep much on my back.

When can I sleep normally again, like on my side etc?

I've had very little sleep so far due to the travel pillow being uncomfortable for me. Irritating!

Thanks

5-7 days.  A lot less of an issue once the sutures are removed. The last thing you want is to have a wide scar for the sake of comfort.  That's if you did FUT.  If FUE, ask the doctor what his protocol is.

I used a really good memory foam neck pillow for about 7-9 nights then after just slept as I usually do.

So after 10 nights i+ or so it wouldn't matter if my transplant area gets touched whilst sleeping?

After 7 days it will be pretty difficult to lose a graft.

I'd play it safe for at least 5 days.

You're in the clear for sure.

4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013

1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018

763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020

My results thread from 1st procedure.

You won't lose any grafts after 5 days...some say 3 days but never hurts to give it a few extra.

Five days is definitely fine. I’ve had six transplants and resumed normal sleeping between the fourth and fifth nights after each procedure. Never had an issue with losing a graft.

Bril. So I can literally sleep on my side or front like i usually or is it a more of a case of being able to sleep a little more freely but not being careless?

Sleeping more freely...none of us would want to be careless...😀
