Regular Member rumblefish7194 Posted January 26, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted January 26, 2020 Hello. I'm 9 days post op from having a fue to restore my frontal hair line. I've read different things that minoxidil can help hair growth in the transplanted area. If this is true what is the best type of minoxidil to use? I've never used it before. I believe it comes in drops or foam and which one would be best. Also since most of my scabs are now gone but there is pink / redness will minoxidil effect this? Senior Member Curious Posted January 26, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted January 26, 2020 Most minoxidil formulations have alcohol in them, which will inflame the scalp and could adversely affect your grafts. I would stay away from it for a while.

Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted January 27, 2020 Administrators Share Posted January 27, 2020 Generally, most surgeons advise patients to stop minoxidil for a few weeks, until the grafts have shed. I would give it some more time before taking minoxidil. I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. I do not receive any compensation from any clinic. My comments are not medical advice. Regular Member rumblefish7194 Posted January 30, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 30, 2020 that makes sense to me, it seems pretty intense to start putting something like that on the grafted area.

Senior Member gillenator Posted January 31, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted January 31, 2020 Did your clinic provide you written post-op care instructions? They should address everything from shampooing, protecting your grafts from sun exposure, removal of crusts, use of minoxidil, etc. Gillenator Independent Patient Advocate I am not a physician and not employed by any doctor/clinic.
