idoc2011
Dr Alexander and his staff are very professional at every step of the process. The initial consultation did not take very long and everything was explained with regards to the procedure itself, costs, and expectations. Should you want to go forward with the surgery at this point, be prepared to place a $2k deposit to have it scheduled. (I found this to be reasonable since I was serious about going forward). My surgery was scheduled about 3 weeks out from the day of my consultation and this was the earliest date possible. On the day of the surgery, I arrived at 730am to start the process. It lasts all day. I left around 530pm. The only breaks during the procedure was for a quick 15 minute lunch, (which was provided), and if I needed to use the rest room. When I got back to the hotel afterwards the only discomfort I experienced was from the donor area. I was glad that I brought a travel pillow with me so I could sleep without placing any pressure on it.The stitches from the donor area are removed the following week, and Dr Alexander examined the transplant area. Another follow-up was set for 6 months. It has been six months since I underwent the process, and I feel that I made the right decision selecting Biltmore Surgical Hair Restoration for my hair transplant procedure.Again, Dr Alexander and his staff are very professional and treat you as an individual with respect. Here are pics showing weekly progress over the last six months. Two things I never considered: That I would use a blow dryer again, and that I could again have a "bad hair" day. idoc2011
I left out the most important number. I am 49yo. Here is a picture I took of the donor area was on 07/22/2019; 11 days after the procedure. I wanted to see how close I could cut my hair and went with #3. It was a mistake as the rest of the hair surrounding the scar was not yet long enough. However, now (at the 6 month mark), the #3 in the open position is as low as it can go without the scar being very noticeable if you didn't know it was there. The second picture I took in early December after cutting my hair with the #3 clip in the closed position. I know it's not the best pic, but you get the idea. Senior Member LaserCap Posted January 17, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted January 17, 2020 Werewolf transformation! Awesome work and great result. Are you doing any type of medical therapy? Talk to the doctor about Propecia, Rogaine, Laser & PRP. I do have a question? Why so short in the back? The reason to do a procedure is for more hair, not less. But it is nice to have options...isn't?
Senior Member duchaine Posted January 17, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted January 17, 2020 3400??? only???? OMG I think you are taking any kind of medicine that improved your baldness because it is almost impossible to get that result using only 3400 grafts
idoc2011
I have been taking Propecia beginning one week after the surgery per Dr Alexander's instructions. I was told it was to keep the original hair from falling out 2' to DHT. I have not experienced any side effects from the medication. I was using the iRestore Laser system for a year prior to the surgery but was not seeing any difference or improvement. I stopped using it before the procedure. As for the short hair, I have always used the #3 clip. I was just curious how low I could go before the scar was noticeable. During the initial consultation I asked him how come the hairline wasn't drawn straight or even. He told me that natural hairlines aren't perfect and the result would look natural and not fake. Judging from the results so far, I'd say he was right. Insofar as the results with 3400 grafts, Dr Alexander mentioned to me during the extraction that the roots of the extracted hair were very deep. I told him that I wasn't sure what that meant and he said that I would be very happy with the results. Which I am.
