Should I use Finasteride? Be honest.

I am going for my first hair transplant in 3 months time which I am excited about. I've been losing my hair since I was 16 and am now 31. I have been lucky that my hairloss has been slow. My crown is thinning but not too bad and I have a receding hairline. My hairline has not receded much since I started to use Regaine 6 years ago. I use Regaine twice a day and also Nizoral once a week.

My question is should I use Finasteride? The hair transplant clinic is encouraging me to use it but I am scared of the side effects. How safe is this drug? I plan to start a family in the next couple of years and am fit and healthy. I also have a good job and am scared of brain fog.

Are there any safer alternatives to slow my hairloss? What about PRP treatment?

Nobody can tell you what can happen to you if you take fina.
if you are lucky, you can get no sides and get a lot of hair.
In other cases, you can suffer liquid spero or can get reversible impotence while getting some hair.
If you are very unlucky you can suffer PFS and no hair growth.

Have you taken it? When I search internet forums it scares me!

I took it for 7 years before I slowly started having side effects (decreased libido, painful ejaculation, fatigue) . It worked magic for my hair in the meantime. I stopped and it took a few months before side effects were gone, but thankfully they did eventually go away!

I now just use Rogaine but I don’t think that is without side effects either to be honest.
