Regular Member Danny1671 Posted November 25, 2019 Regular Member Share Posted November 25, 2019 Hi everyone, Just wondered if it’s normal to not shed some of the transplanted hair after seven weeks post-op? I reckon about 50-60% have gone maybe a bit more but the shedding seems to have slowed right down. At one point if I messed with my hair over the sink, about 20-30 hairs would fall every time both transplanted and native. It’s now between 3-8 hairs. Could it be the daily minoxidil tabs or the Propecia that I take 3 times a week? Basically I’m worried that if the hairs haven’t fallen then it may effect the end result negatively. Although the hairs that haven’t fallen are growing faster than the native hair and looks a bit strange. If anyone has experienced this I’d love to know your thoughts, and how did the end result workout, or not, for you? Thanks all
Senior Member Fozzie Posted November 25, 2019 Senior Member Share Posted November 25, 2019 The shedding post HT can vary between individuals. Some guys shed near enough all the transplanted hairs, others may not shed as much. Wouldn't worry to be honest.
Moderators Al - Moderator Posted November 25, 2019 Moderators Share Posted November 25, 2019 Some people will get hairs that don't shed and just continue to grow. If you get a good amount of hair that grows without shedding then consider yourself lucky as you may have a very short and easy ugly duckling phase. Raphael84
Danny, How are you? Nothing to worry about. The less you shed, the better for you in the short term. Long term it has no negative effect on your final result. I hope your well. Regular Member Danny1671 Posted November 25, 2019 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 25, 2019 Thanks for the advice guys. It’s such a crazy journey so far. At 7 weeks I actually have slightly more hair than I did at day zero which is completely unexpected. I guess I could be a late shedder. The waiting continues! Let’s hope it all fills out in a few months....

I am a fast healer as witnessed by past non-transpant procedures, although I remember no shedding from my 2011 transplant. I am 14 months past my last transplant. When I was younger I had to clean out the drain every day, now I very seldom have to do that and I have a good amount of body hair. 1 "Imagination frames events unknown in wild fantastic shapes of hideous ruin, and what it fears, creates."
