Gynecomastia following finasteride

Recommended Posts

I had undergone FUE hair transplant of 3000+ grafts in Jan 2019.
I am on Finasteride 2mg od daily till date.
Now I have developed moderate Gynecomastia for the past two months.
Please advise about continuing Finasteride 2mg daily and also drugs for reversal of Gynecomastia without side effects of further baldness.
Thank you

Why are you taking 2mg per day? The recommended dosage is only 1mg per day.

Same question as Melvin - Any reason why you're taking double the recommended amount? Did your doctor recommend this? Not only does it seem excessive, but many guys get away with taking 1mg every other day due to how long the medication can stay in your system. So with that in mind, it seems you may really be overdoing it..

Gynocomastia is a possible side effect of taking finisteride especially at higher than 1mg recommended doses. Lower the dose to 1mg per day.

I would recommend that you get off the oral finasteride and take topical finasteride. Don't take more doses than recommended

My advice does not constitute a patient-physician relationship nor as medical advice and all medical questions/concerns should be addressed to your medical provider.
