Has anybody tried it with their regimen?

Have a transplant scheduled with a recommended doc on here in a week and want to start a good regimen.

I cant handle finasteride so I was thinking about trying Minoxidil, Niz, biotin sup., protein shakes, and possibly a collagen supplement.  Any thoughts on these?

Was going to try microneedling but Doc said he would advise against it because we don’t know enough about it. It creates wounds which create scars and scar tissue.

Anyways, want to get a good regimen going and want this great communities input.  Thanks

Consider Rogaine, a laser and have the doctor do PRP at the time of the procedure.

Family history?

What are you currently experiencing?

Are you shedding?

Miniaturized hair?

Where exactly is the loss?

What did the doctor recommend graft wise?

FUE or FUT?

I think micro-needling and minoxidil combined is a pretty effective treatment. I have seen some really good results from @CosmoKramer I was on the fence at first, but after seeing his progress I think it's definitely effective.

I would recommend not using Nizoral post your HT, stick to a mild organic shampoo or baby shampoo for a few months. As for the Minoxidil, post a couple weeks after HT others have said it has helped I’ve only just started using it again 2-months ago with microneedling (used Minoxidil on and off over 10 years with not much result) , I’m getting some good results now. Supplements might be helpful, Biotin, MSM, Multi Vitamin, Collagen peptides in a shake is what I took and still do daily.

You can check the Open Topic section for my microneedling progress if interested.

Good Luck!

Genes,

Good luck with the upcoming procedure. You may want to research saw palmetto if you can't tolerate finasteride. I have seen a number of patients do well on it. I am not convinced it is as effective, but a lot of patients want to throw everything they can at the hair loss; especially if they are having a procedure.

Thanks everyone.  Ya @CosmoKramer I’ve been following your thread and see positive results and even told my doc to take a look at yours since he’s a member here.

You’re welcome!

Just want to add...I do NOT think you should start microneedling or dermarolling or Minoxidil since your ht procedure is next week...I would wait until at least 9 months after you procedure progress so that you see how well your growth progresses during that time (Minoxidil alone you probably can start much sooner but ask your doctor), this is just my opinion so be sure to stick to what your doctor recommends.

Whom is your surgeon and are you doing FUE or FUT?...if you feel comfortable saying. 🙂

Have you tried topical finasteride?...you may be able to tolerate the topical form.
