Regular Member JohnTinsley Posted August 1, 2019 Regular Member Share Posted August 1, 2019 (edited) So, after a fairly long absence, I am scheduled with Dr Diep in five weeks. Today I received my consents in the mail. Among the questions are whether I wish to receive these three items along with a steroid injection. I don't have many reservations about the steroid injection but am unsure about the others. Any feedback on these additional treatments will be appreciated. Senior Member PlzRespond Posted August 2, 2019 Senior Member Share Posted August 2, 2019 What is the steroid injection for? Do you have an autoimmune condition?
Regular Member JohnTinsley Posted August 2, 2019 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 2, 2019 The "steroid injection" is described as being for reducing swelling. Unlikely but possible sided effects mentioned were essentially identical to consents that I have signed for prednizone injections for poison oak and kanalog for allergies. I am assuming it is is a corticosteroid and they typically do help with inflamation but, most probably, not with the accumulation of ansesthetic fluid. I have read that Dr. Nader also does this. These medications, used occasionally are pretty safe and I have less of an issue with this that the a-cell and amnio fill.
