Regular Member xadiohead Posted June 29, 2019 Author Regular Member Share Posted June 29, 2019 Sorry for delayed response. I really hate posting hair pictures because like I said before, very self-conscious about it. I've taken finasteride for about 15 years and decided I want to take dutasteride instead beginning in January but I didn't want to just switch all of a sudden, especially the same year I am doing hair transplant, so I decided I was going to take both for a year and then drop finasteride at the end of this year. I haven't decided if I am going to take dutasteride every day at that point or not. Here are some updated pictures. Some of them aren't the clearest but I dread taking these so don't want to redo ha. This is at the 3.5 month mark. Much better growth the past two weeks. Still a very very long ways to go but hopefully the next 8 months goes well. Still lots of redness but it has gone down some the past few weeks (my forehead is red because I was wearing a hat). Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks

Regular Member TempleRunner Posted June 30, 2019 Regular Member Share Posted June 30, 2019 Majoy improvenemt from the 2 months update. seems promising. We did the HT on the same day, and it seems you keep up nicely with the growth rate. keep updating. 4329 grafts - ASMED - Dr. Koray - 12-13.3.19HT thread:

The redness has gone down slightly over the past couple weeks when it was really bad. It is still very obvious as I have super pale skin. Regimen: minoxidil foam once per day Finasteride Dutasteride (every other day) 7500 biotin MSM Saw Palmetto I also just started using the iRestore hair laser three times per week. (I'm sure this is a scam but o'well). I think the hairline is a bit more aggressive than I wanted but it's hard to select your hairline in the 15 minutes during your exam with Dr Erdogan. I just hope it all grows in! I'm pretty insecure when it comes to taking these ugly duckling pics.... I am 1 month post op at ASMED and i thought i was crazy as i also am complaining that my hairline is to aggressive, i have a 3head now which i honestly like it makes me look better but i have no idea how I'm gonna pull this off when i get back home without people asking questions, i wish it was bit more clearer where the hairline was going to be and a little more time to review it... glad I'm not the only one, I'm thing perhaps when the hair is longer and swept back it will make my forehead bit bigger. The best way to deal with questions, honestly, is to not seem insecure about the fact that you had a procedure. They can't really make fun of you about something if you're not ashamed of it (and there's nothing to be ashamed of here). Or...you can simply say something like "I had a procedure on my scalp," which is true but could mean any number of things.
Regular Member xadiohead Posted July 31, 2019 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 31, 2019 Here are my 4.5 month pictures. I'm still not good at taking these pictures but I don't enjoy it so no re-dos. Much improvement from 3.5 month, but still FAR from where I want to be. It's pretty obvious in the pictures which is the transplanted hair. As long as it keeps progressing each of the next six months I think I will be happy in the end. I'll get a haircut before my next set of pictures which hopefully will contrast the transplanted hair better.

Buuut, i am 21 and people i know are not mature and at this age no-one is accepting of stuff like this yet instead it could me used against me especially with the kind of people i am friends with... The pro to it all is since none of my friends are balding or anyone i know my age for that matter they are all uneducated on hairloss so i can simply tell them i changed my diet and started using minoxidil or something and hopefully that will be enough. Yeah, I can understand that. In my experience, most people don't even know how HTs work or that they're a viable option. You might be able to get away with not saying anything, since it can look a bit like a buzz cut within a week or two (before the shed). I'm sorry you had to go through this as early as you did. I started balding around that age and it really sucks. I guess I just had luck dealing with the HT situation by joking about the "triad of death" (that you can't be more than one of the following -- short, fat, bald) and calmly, light-heartedly explaining to people that I like having hair and I'll continue to have it if I have anything to say about it. Some people can pull off the shaved look...I'm not one of them.

Yeah for sure most people don't even know hair transplants exist and even if they do how to spot them, balding early is really tough i seriously thought i had already reached my peak of happiness back a couple years ago when i had finished school when i had hair and only just started reciding and had accepted this that life was never going to be as good as that. When really for 99% of people finishing school it is only the beginning of their happiness. Anyway, hopefully this procedure gives us all a 2nd chance.

You should be about 30% of the way to your final result at this point.
