Unless you've been living under a rock you have heard of HIMS. it's basically everywhere on social media, I even hear about it on some of my favorite podcasts. Have any of you guys tried HIMS? do you guys feel the finasteride is legit?

Surprisingly, and as much as I’m on social media, I’ve never heard of this until recently. To be honest, I’m not exactly sure why this particular company/website is necessary when you can just ask your primary care physician for a prescription for both  of these medications.   But I suppose anybody a little bit too insecure to speak face-to-face with their doctor can use this company to obtain generic versions of this medication.

Of course, there have been some reports about generic finasteride and whether or not they are in active ingredients are affecting its potency. I don’t know much about Viagra let alone it’s generic however, hopefully all the medication is legit.

Horrible company from my experience. I asked them a single question regarding their shampoo and they bounced me from person to person. Weeks later after I continued to ping them they made me setup an account to ask one of their doctors who again never got back to me. Months and months have gone by now with no response. I would not trust a company with customer service like this.

Even if If is actually Finasteride, they have still found a way to provide a medical therapy (Fin & Minoxidil) at a much higher cost than getting it through your physician. Minoxidil 5% can be purchased on Amazon for $30-$35 dollars for a 6 month supply. Finasteride is the same way... mine is the generic brand and I get it through Costco. A year supply is $87 dollars.

Hims charges per month for 30 day supply or Fin. 2oz bottle of Minoxidil. Vitamin (biotin) and a DHT shampoo that they have no information on how it stops/blocks/reduces DHT.... from my understanding it’s just a volume shampoo to make your hair appear thicker.

To the average Joe who doesn’t know much about what works and doesn’t work when it comes to hairloss, it’s just a over priced product, marketed for the uneducated consumers.

You can buy 10000 mcg Biotin at Walmart for $5.94. Hims Biotin is 5000 mcg and they are selling it for $14 dollars per bottle... rip off. There is nothing wrong with taking biotin but people need to understand that realistically, it will be of enough benefit to see actually results or regrowth for someone with a genetic pattern.

Bill, I agree, I hope all medications are legit and it would be nice for the company to offer more information to clarify.

Wow I didn’t know that, they certainly make it seem like you get a substantial discount off the medications, but maybe they can undercut the prices by increasing the over-the-counter treatments. Great discussion guys keep it coming.

Of course they make it seem like that! Haha that’s how they are making their money. On their website, they charge around $44 dollars per month. That’s more than twice the amount you could spend getting it elsewhere. Research is 🔑

I’ve even seen prescriptions of generic Fin at CVS & Walgreen for $50-$60 dollars per month!!.... that’s unheard of! Why spend more than you have to, for the same thing? 🤔

I'll be the devils advocate. Their marketing is excellent and will make this a more acceptable topic for young men.  Rogaine should fire their marketing team.

HIMS is fun and young and will help remove some of the stigma.

I would not use them because I am past needing them, BUT, 8 or 9 years ago they could have been a resource to start with before I learned the ropes.

I actually looked to see if there was a stock for them or an IPO coming.  They will be a successful company IMO.

That's exactly what I thought, their marketing is really impressive. I think the idea is an excellent one. I mean I am really open now about hair loss and hair transplants, but 10 years ago I was too embarrassed to even talk about my hair loss. They're definitely making it okay to deal with hair loss, many podcasters I follow even admitted to using them for Finasteride.
